  • For all those who are so concerned about the third world farmers why dont you donate a percentage of your R&R`S to a worthwhile charity that offers assisstance to them

Little John - our sat nav is a manufacturer standard fit one on the Nissan Primera, so no idea what system it is. It does a search for fuel stations, and if you ask for nearby ones it will pick out the larger Tescos with a fuel station (and it tells you they are Tescos ones too)

Does R&R work at Tesco Metro's? I am getting ready to give it a try, but I am worried about buying something (that I can't really afford) and then not receving the R&R. Also, I worry that the small Tesco's in central London may not be on the ball when it comes to this sort of thing. Has anyone else had experience with this?

Also, please help me clarify this, if the SEL says £10 per kilo, and the item is labelled at £12 per kilo, is the store required to charge the lower price Or are they reqiured to refund the entire amount? The first post on this thread seems to state that I would only receive the difference in price, but it seems that everyone here receives a full refund.

    Many Thanks!

Yes, R&R will work at Metro stores too although it may make you unpopular if you're holding up a big queue at Covent Garden or th like ;)

As for your example, by law they would normally be required to charge the lower price and refund the difference. However they have an advertised policy to refund the whole amount so they have to do that.
    Can I help?

Thanks for your advice, I will give it a try today as I am feeling brave! Also, I'll be sure to visit a Tesco's at a less busy time to make my first go at this easier.

Can anyone tell me the name of the DIY book that everyone's getting on R & R. Have to do a quick dash to tecos tonight so would be good to know exactly what I'm looking for.
What did I do at work before I discovered MSE?!

To add to Duders excellent post -

Look out for expired SELs - they are easy targets as the till price has (probably) gone up but the lower SEL can sometimes remain.

Tesco Extras are the best place to look for R + Rs - more stock and more staff make for more possible mistakes.

Over charges on price stickered products make for less arguments - the evidence is directly to hand and normally results in immediate R + R

Hold your ground - a call to Head Office will make force even the most reluctant CS to eventually R + R as HO will make them do it.

And above all, as Duder said - be polite and reasonable with the people you encounter - they are doing a hard job and will be kinder to you in return.
