But the CS wrote "Refund" next to the entry on my till receipt
Tippex is a marvellous inventionAnd the refund from Ecover will be offset against their tax payments so everyone wins*

It was my first one since the Hollywood wine about a month ago,the chewing gum didn't work though but was still a good buy @ 89p.

I find the cash is far more satisfying than the apology. Got a R&R on a DS Pac Pix yesterday (I've had several this week, these people are nuts  ) but got offered 5p (difference) first. The CS lady handed over the 5p with a fairly condescending smile. The smile soon left her face when I pointed to the bottom of the lovely blue board directly behind her! What would you prefer? 5p and a smile or £20 and a scowl?I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0 -

Excellent. Now just send it back. Pretend you wrote the refund yourself as that is what you are asking for. Highlight it aswell. Or maybe get a pen and expand it to "refund this please". Add a cover note saying you have marked on the recipt what you are supposed to be refunded by them. They will never think supermarket refund if you are supposed to send in the packaging with this offer. They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0 -
Hey guys, i am new to this forum and having just read a few of your guys posts i think i have been done by tesco
If only i had read this thread earlier!!
Yesterday in tesco i saw some jeans that were meant to be 15 pounds reduced to 8 pounds. I went through one of the self service checkouts, so when they came up full price i rang for assistance, the lady that came over to me said oh, i marked down the wrong ones they are full price still do you still want them. I explained that surely i should still get them at the price they are marked up at, but she insisted that it was a mistake and that all other items have been taken off the shelves now.
Having read this thread tho it looks like i should not have got them at the reduced price, but because there was an error i should have got them FREE!! Is this right or have i misread the thread??0 -
Zoes you went about things wrong,
Dont use the self scanning tills
Buy the items, dont inform staff before you buy them
take the item to customer services and tell them you have been over charged, I am sure the assistant that is manning the self scan tills is also the person that does the price reductions in the clothing department. I know if you ask in one of our local stores where somthing is and your not in that department they point you in the drection and leave you to it so reducing another department I doubt would happen.
On the other hand if you were told a price at the point of sale (the shelf/rail) and when you paid for the item it scanned at a higher price then you are entitled to R+R, the reason for the policy is to put people off contacting trading standards over mispricing their stuff. The fact that someone made a mistake doesnt matter you bought the item based on the information you were given at the shelf/rail and that info was wrong your not supposed to know that *Pat from chckouts was having a bad day and made a mistake, if she removed them all why was 1 still left out? ohh yeah another mistake I wonder how many other mistakes *Pat makes if we have found 2 of them in the space of 30 seconds?
*(Pat is an unknown person, should you know a Pat working on checkouts at Tesco then this isnt anything to do with her)0 -
I usually find it depends on who is on the CS Desk on how much you have to fight for your R&R.. I have not not got one yet0

I've only been R&R'ing for a month but in that time I've probably done about 20 R&R's and only one CS person has tried to give me difference as opposed to a straight R&R. If you haven't got a R&R yet on a genuine overcharge, all I can say is you can't be fighting *too* hard. You shouldn't have to get shirty about it, after all the wording explaining it all is usually there behind the CS desk so it should be a matter of pointing to the bottom of the notice...I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0
