Hi,
Please tell me what the banck did and if the money stopped being taken from your account.
I am with Barclays as well and they said it needs 30 days to cancel this BUT THEY CAN CHANGE ME AGAIN in these 30 days.
What happened next pls?
Thank you,
RamonaI too was conned by both Ever Brights and Clean Whites. I made contact with my Credit Card Co and disputed the transactions as soon as I received my statement - one off payments taken by both cos of 75 pounds sterling and 153 pounds - even though I'd cancelled both products as soon as they came through my door!!!
After reading your thread about asking for a chargeback I made contact again with Barclaycard. I have now responded to at least 4 letters from them about the transactions. They appear to be playing dumb almost - they keep referring to my 'regular' payments to these cos, asking me for the same info over and over again and deliberately misinterpreting the info that I've repeatedly given. The latest feedback from them was that they 'could not make a refund to me as the charge was made before the cancellation period was over'.
I'm completely confused by this - surely this supports my case that I was charged in full before my trial period ended? Have you any ideas what I could try? Barclaycard were very helpful to me in a previous situation where I was being charged for something each month that I knew nothing about - but on this occasion I feel completely abandoned by them.
I would greatly appreciate any advice you could offer.
(I'm totally new to this forum so I'm not sure if I've done this right as this is my first post)0 -

I cannot believe I have been scammed by these morons, I am so mad with myself and my husband is furious with me. Today they took nearly £60 out of my bank account and I cant get it back. On the 4th May my bank rang me about a transaction on my account which they classed as fraudulent from an Australian subscription so they blocked my card and sent me a new one. I have been in touch with my bank and even though I have told them about the £60 they said that canceling my card would not stop them taking more money out my account as they still have the right as its automatically authorized because its a debit card. It took me 4 hours to try and cancel ringing all over the place and eventually getting sorted. I have sent an e-mail to the other company which the box says Vivid white as I cant find a telephone number for them so I hope they respond to the e-mail. I have a funny feeling that the Australian transaction could be them???? I am gutted and feel sick to the stomach as the money in this account is my bill money. I am totally surprised that Lloyds TSB dont be able to do much.0

I have also been scammed by Vivid White Smile which im sure was not called that when i first said i would try the so called free trial! Anyway i cannot find an email address or phone numbr anywhere to cancel. They are so crafty they dont send any invoices or receipts with any contact details on. I have gone on the vividwhitesmile website and have called the customer helpline which is not in this country and it turned out to be an answerfone of a holiday booking place!! i am seriously getting desparate to cancel this, they have taken 3 lots of nearly £60 and my bank says they cannot cancel card but can dispute the money being taken out each time it is, only after 30 days of me complaining. I dont know what else to do, today i got another package from Vivid White with some more unwanted teeth whitening product which i cannot use as it made my gums sore. Please Please can someone help!?!0

Just for your information, I had the tooth whitening product tested by a friend who works in a Boots laboratory,
the results : 96% baking powder, the rest a chalk compound.+flavorings
very expensive baking powder!0 -
Call your card provider, cancel the card and ask them to send you a new card. At least they can't take anymore money because the CVV numbers will be different.
They register in the UK so they have to abide by the distance selling regulations, thats if they give a sh*t which they obviously don't but the banks do.0 -
I am so angry with myself. I fell for this scam but only because it was advertised on SNOPES. which is site telling you if something is a scam or not. How Ironic. I ordered on 2 cards I am ashamed to say. both for $4.00 - postage. After entering the "PromoCode" for both Everbright and True Teeth Whitening Pro,and being 'sucessfull' I told my brother and he asked me to order for him. They only take VISA and he has mastercard. They would not take the details of the first card again - should have smelled a rat right there. There were no terms and conditions and I had no confirmation e mail for either order. Only the original entry to say I was sucessful. I trusted SNOPES. and therefore trusted that this was a genuine promo. I have lost over £400.00 from each account. Nationwide re-embursed me, but have just received a letter with 'Proof' that I authorised money to be taken from my account - which of course I did - $4.00. Nationwide say I should have read the terms and conditions - They cannot seem to take it in that there were no terms and conditions and that I did not go onto the companies website and order from them direct - I have no problem with paying for the original offer, but I do have a problem with money being stolen from my debit cards - which were both stopped - when I have not given them consent. I have never received the product either. My brother received one, but there was no covering correspondence. It arrived 10 weeks after ordering. No chance to cancel then even if I did have the details of the companies. HSBC will not re-emburse me as they say they have not yet received the paper work from the companies to draw on the money -but it has been taken from my account. I am being sent mad by all this.
Why can the banks not see that this is FRAUD. Nationwide have told me I can appeal and they will forward everything onto the Fraud department, but I have to once again write in with all information etc. I am not holding my breath. I was only expecting a free sample. Silly Girl. I am going to get in touch with Nationwide fraud department - I have two chances.
It has been therapeutic reading all the other comments. It does help.0 -
Thought about 'loosing' you purse with your cards in? Then the cards will be replaced.0

I have found to my horror that the BBC of all company's have an advert for a face mask on their BBC GOOD FOOD SITE, it is the same advert as the everbright smiles but changed to a face mask product. this includes the free trial offer!
I have contacted the BBC to inform them of my concerns and horror that a company well known for fraudulent activities could place an advert on a BBC site.
PLEASE PLEASE COULD other people also contact them to complain!
