  • My belated birthday present from OH was some money to spend in Lush, so I headed off down there yesterday.

I rummaged in the big box, but it was mostly the smaller Christmas gift boxes that were left and a couple of the grab bags. An assistant came over and rummaged with me and told me the only bags left were 'shower ones', which was disappointing because I prefer to have baths (with Lush stuff certainly!) so she said she'd go and see if they had anything else hidden away. But she came back with a massive bag of bath stuff for me :jVery happy. I got:

Mini snow faerie (to go with the one I had bought anyway!)
2 bath ballistics (1 Bath Ballistics, 1 Jingle Spells)
2 bubble bars (1 Christmas Eve, 1 Ruby red slippers)
    1 soap (Father Frost)
2 bath melts (Want to believe and Star)
Christmas mini gift box with 1 li'l lush pud bath ballistic and 1 snowcake soap
Aiming to be debt free AND a qualified lawyer by 30!
    * Overdraft: £1,700 * Credit Card:
    [STRIKE]£1,550[/STRIKE] £1,534 * Uni fees: [STRIKE]£945[/STRIKE] £300 * Wonga:[STRIKE]£290[/STRIKE] * ILEX: £635 *
  • Has anyone been to Westfield Lush recently?

I went on the 27th Dec and they said that they did run the offer but were so busy and sold out of all their christmas gift sets/goodies the day before. The store was pretty much completely empty (at the time) but said it would be best trying some of the smaller london branches.. A friend of mine went on Boxing Day and she said it was absolutely manic in there!

I went boxing day at 5pm sunshinedays- all gone by then besides a small handful of Xmas boxes, they said they were getting a delivery monday at that point- I'm imagining maybe no more deliverys then?

I think if they got any more, it'd go pretty quick! maybe worth giving them a call on monday morning and check to be sure? :]
  • I dont know if we have a "ways to get the best value for money out of lush products" thread buty i thought i would add some tips for people new to lush (and for that matters older users who just hand thought of the ideas before).

    * To get the best out of the bubble bar crumple the bar and put a small amount in to a old pop sock/ pair of tights/ organza bag, and place that under the stream of the bath, you get much better bubbles and dont get gritty larger chunks sinking to the bottom (which is then a waste of product and is uncomortable to stand/ sit on)

    * Dont use all of a bubble bar i usually divide them in to between 3-6 pices (its a bit of trial and error)

*if your strong/ can be bothered cut bath bombs in half, so it can last 2 baths (ive given up on this as i like really deep baths and got sick spending ages cutting them up. No one else in my house likes lush and moans about the crumbs, but if you all like lush the crumbs can be used to freshen the matteres/ a pillow or putt in to one of the draws)

*dont leave shampoo bars/ soaps/ body butters in the bath they melt away/ wear down much quicker. Once used put them somwherte they can dry out then (especially with body butters and shampoo bars) put them in a water tight container.

    * If you use the solid conditioner (i hate it,after trying out a free sample) leave it to soak in water before you rub it on your hair, the softer it is the better it coats your hair- or even better after its soaked scrape thin bit soff with your nails and mix in the palm of your hand with water, to make it in to a liquid conditioner consistancy.

There all the tips o can think of right now, im sure others have plenty to share so please do.

My mum just rang me to tell me that whilst she was in sheffield she went to buy me some birthday bits from Lush and saw the offer, but nothing was out on the floor so she asked staff and they went and had a search out back they found a think pink box and you're a star box, plus one grab bag so she chose me the think pink one :D she then spent another £20 and she chose the you're star and they gave her the grab bag as an extra as they were closing for the day and said might aswell get rid of everything today :D

I usually use a whole bubble bar, so it is a matter of personal choice. If you put you hands in the running water, and splash it about a bit you will get even more bubbles and no bits of undisolved bubble bar. Also its better to start with hot water, even if you add some cold later.

Ive just got out of the bath and I used a whole comfoter bar as a treat, crumbled it up and sprinkled all over the bottom of the bath before added water, then used the shower head to dislove the bar and bubble up. when its all disloved I top up with the water from the tap, I find that method makes the best bubbles. You should keep the bathroom door closed while you are doing that as it keeps all the lovley smells even stronger.I also leave the bath water in over night and the next morning the whole house smells of the bubble bar, and the bath is lovley and clean, I just shower it down in the morning. I have also used whats left for washing out hairbrushes I leave them to soak for 20 min.
People who live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones...

It is much easier to see other people's failings than our own.
  • I think it depends on the bubble bar - some are about 3 times bigger than others! I use a washing-tablets bag and swish it up and down the water, lots of bubbles :)

I chose a goody bag from the Liverpool Lush, got Strawberry Santa, a Snow Fairy small bottle, big chunk of a nice soap, and 4 bath crumbles (no labels so not sure what they are actually - any ideas on a black glittery one, looks a bit like coal?)

The black one is Want to Believe - it is a bath melt. :)
