  • If it's on the carpet, mix some biological washing powder with warm water and scrub. The enzymes will break down the protein (or something like that :D )
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

Might be worth lifting it and see if it's gone into the floorboards, if it has clean them then the carpet.
One day I might be more organised...........

Try either soda water or a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and water. Should solve the problem.

My son did this a lot too :o(

I second and third bio washing powder and warm water, this was the only thing that worked for me. x

You could also try having a bowl of bicarbonate of soda to 'absorb' the smells. Obviously put it somewhere out of reach, but it should help.

If you want to shampoo the carpet, try hiring a 'rug doctor' they usually have them for hire in diy stores such as Focus; even my local Somerfield store hires them. They are great and do not leave the carpet wet and it is a fairly quick process unlike using something like a vax. However, it is quite strange using initially as they operate going backwards.

    Hi emily,

There's an earlier thread with ideas that may help so I've added your post to it to keep the suggestions together.
