newbie_maz wrote: »Hi all,
Was just catching up & saw this. We bought some gripe water yesterday cos LO's been terrible in the evenings. She's tended to be awake from 4/5pm until midnight/1am crying apart from when feeding or in the bath. We'd tried extending bath time cos she seems to calm down loads then but there's only so long you I make bath time last!
So we used the gripe water last night - little bit less than 5ml as it says 5ml from 1 month & she's just under - with 2 of evening feeds & IT WORKED!! She was lovely apart from about an hour between about 10pm & 11pm when was still unsettled (but still not the screaming we'd had the last few nights).
Think it also helped that we bought a Fisher Price Sooth & Glow Seahorse yesterday. Bought one for some friends before she was born & wanted one for her since but not got round to buying it. It plays 5 mins of soft music with a night light on it's belly & she loves it. We put her in crib wide awake last night with that & it took 4 times of pressing it but eventually she went to sleep with it all on her own (been taking lots of rocking & cuddles at nighttime recently).
Anyway, back to catching up....
How much was the seahorse? Amber loves lights but i only have a mobile and it doesn't last long so i get sick of winding it up, so i've been looking for something like that.
edit - AF we have the glow worm too but like you say doesn't last long and i get bored of holding it up lol0 -
We have the glow worm too, and my moan is that it only plays for a few seconds at a time!
I can recommend http://community.leapfrog.com/t5/My-Pals-Scout-and-Violet/bd-p/580005666.
We obviously got the Violet one.
You plug it into the lappy and download your own choice of tunes, and babies name etc.
It has buttons on its paws for daytime fun music, games and one for bedtime music. You can get two, five or ten minutes of bedtime music. V doesn't usually get to hear the end of ten minutes worth.:beer:0 -
I only booked my hair appointment as I couldn't stand the thought of spending 8 hours stuck at home with the in-laws, but I do desperately need it!
House cleaning is slow going. I've managed to blitz the bathroom then had to come downstairs and settle Henry and have somehow ended up on here!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Susan i think someone on another forum asked for a photo of me so i sent him that one instead of a real one0

how have work treated the taxable benefits before MFD? Have they been deducting more via PAYE in the past?
some medical benefits aren't taxable though:
has the package that work provide for you changed?
xxx
Nothing has changed as far as I am aware...will get the accountant to have a look at it when I visit him to set up my business *crosses fingers*
Feel 100% now FF and my attitude is he has had 6 weeks which is better than nothing...just need to sort sleeping now
6 weeks is great Maz, especially as you have had a tough time of it. I for one don't think I would have stuck it so long if I had struggled with it!!angelfairy wrote: »oh did you do the curry how it was recommend by glam and sorry can't remember who else
not sure about eating it, is it chicken? if so maybe i wouldn't but if lamb or beef might be okay??
It's pork! It wasn't to a recipe other than a chuck it in and see recipe!! Pork, onions, peppers, 1 tin toms, 1 carton passata, a heap of rogan josh powder, some garam masala and some stock. Maybe I will heat it up and see if it is nice before I decide to eat it or not!! My kitchen is quite cool so it is not like it has been sat in the sun!
Just been to boots and bought a stash of Moxi Designer Tampons in cute little tins reduced to 50p for 16. I also bought the 32 boudoir boxes for 75p. An absolute bargain if anyone uses applicator free tampons. Looked like they were end of line stock.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

I met a mum at the bus stop earlier, her kid goes to the morning nursery though, anyways, he is away to start school in Sep (Poor Keira all her friends are going to school *sob*) and his mum STILL pushes him in a buggy, EVERYTIME I SEE HER HE IS IN A BUGGY, dummy in his mouth and a blanket rubbing off his face!!
The reason he is like that is cause she is a fat lazy slob! ANd obv doent wanna run after him. When I say fat, I don't mean just fat, I mean like morbidly obese fat, she has a bum cliff!0 -

Is it wrong that I was totally excited about this and planning a trip to Boots when I have a stash of about four boxes of tampons and haven't had a period for a year?!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
I keep wondering when i should be expecting a period, is it true that bf'ing delays it?
I stopped bleeding completely when she was 2 weeks old, and it was v.light throughout - not how i remembered it being after DS :eek:0 -
You've probably already done it but have you flicked the switch in the back of the glow worm? It makes the songs play a little bit longer and the light on the face fades out.Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0

You mean just the water in a bottle ready to add formula?
I've not been to a hairdresser for over a year:eek: I sereiously look like a tramp
I used to wash and sterilise 6 bottles then put the hot water and powder in, shake 'em up and stick them in the fridge, I think Glam cools hers in a sink of cold water before putting the fridge but I didn't0
