Thanks for the replies re. the hungry madam!

I did have some sachets of the nipple cream but i can't find them, i've hunted the whole house - grrr. Will have to buy some when/if i can summon up the strength to leave the house. Need to go and run my car really cos i'm worried it'll never start again if i leave it frozen much longer, but it means getting me and the kids ready cos it's not right outside the house.

It's reassuring to know i'm not alone with the pain though, i do know she's latched on right, i doubted it at first but 2 mw's have confirmed it's a perfect latch and she's got plenty of areola. It's frustrating because i'm constantly nudging her to not get sleepy when suckling in the hope it'll be over with sooner :o

I never thought i'd look forward to my milk coming in, but i am now  Just hope it gets better once i know she's actually filling up cos i don't know if colostrum even fills her up?? It would seem not, the amount she wants fed.

Feeling ignorant too cos when trying to catch up i'm seeing questions to answer but then she stirs so i end up ignoring :o Must catch up on preggy thread too!

I'm having pain with William at the moment...Krystal told me to make sure he was level with nipple...(see old thread). I tried him with a bottle of formula last night just to see if he would sleep better and he hated it but will try and express some today to see if this works...right need to go and get some stuff done while LO asleep and Henry at nursery... Loads to do - hoover/ice cakes/ make yorkshire puddings.
Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.

Beenie - a newborn babies tum can only hold about 7mls, abolutely tiny! as long as she seems to be acting 'normal' she's getting enough xx

oh and I know 'they' say there shouldn't be pain when feeding but in the 1st month it's balls :p My let down reflex was painful everytime for ages and still is now ocasionally
The very best is sometimes what nature gives us for free.

I think so! I keep forgetting about his birthday, poor boy :o. We are having a house party for my family and friends the day after Boxing Day and just close family on his actual birthday.

Are you all ready for Christmas?!

    xx

It sounds lovely. Bet Poppy enjoys opening his presents :D

Yep, we're pretty much ready, thank you. I did the last of the present wrapping last night and I just need to cook (i.e. get out of freezer and bung in oven) some vol-u-vonts (I've spelt that wrong :o) and make a banoffee pie to take to mum and dad's on Xmas Day.

We're going to family on both Xmas Day and Boxing Day, so I haven't had to do a great deal to be honest. Although I have gone slightly mad buying "My 1st Christmas" bib, romper suit, bauble etc etc :o

Really? And there is me thinking they were a bit unusual/not-so-popular!

    I'm not offended! :p;)

    xx

I know a Noah too. It's getting really popular now. It was the 45th most popular name in 2008 (according to the Office for National Statistics).

I can't believe you had a baby 10 days ago and are doing all that. You are superwoman!! All I was capable of doing was sitting on the sofa and letting DH bring me food and drinks :o.

I still have so much to do, I need to get into town to get 2 last pressies and down the road to somerfield to get a couple of tubes of sweets. I still need to tidy downstairs (it's a complete tip) and wrap all the pressies!

I think I should get off the pc and get cracking with the tidying!! I have a sofa full of clothes because the boys have had no drawers for the last 2wks and because I had emptied everything into Kai's room I haven't been able to get to his drawers either!! so there is 2wks worth of washing/ironing to go away, well except what I have been pulling out for them to wear.

I need a list.....then I can at least get an idea of what needs doing and can palm some jobs off onto dh and the kids;) Off to write a list:)
