mm - sorry I missed it was your birthday. Happy birthday, although I see i am a bit late for that.....sorry you had such a crap day!!
Bruno - Thank you, yes I am absolutely overjoyed with the carpet....as is kai, it has certainly increased his crawling speed as he is no longer slipping!! the only problem is that because the carpet is so posh it made the rest of downstairs look naff, hence the decorating marathon!
How is your oh now, has she(and you) thought anymore about nursery/childminder for Elijah? I am not sure if I am regretting pulling Kai out of nursery myself, as we get no help from family etc it was quite nice to be able to get jobs done without CONSTANTLY stopping to entertain/move/feed/change/comfort kai, nothing seems to get done...
On that note, I picked up the forms for pre-school today, she said they are jam packed for this coming school year (sept/jan starters) So good job I collected the forms now to get his name down....she also gave me the forms for the 'belly baby'!!! I can't work out when he will start though? His brthday is march 15th, so he will be 2.5yrs old on Sept 15th, does that mean he will start in the Sept or Jan???Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

I'm ever so grateful for the support I get on here. I'd love to pay you all back somehow! Move to Wales everyone! I will make cakes

Giant jaffa cakes?
elle, I'm not sure about being a SAHM, it's an interesting question! I think that part of my personality is quite intense and tasky/projecty. I love to plan outcomes and see achievements. I wonder if, without some sort of work to channel that into it might come out towards Fergie and Kester. Like being a bit over-ambitious on their behalf. Or caring too much about their achievements and milestones. But I think I would like to find something different for a while. And definately not full time. I miss Fergie too much! I say to him at the end of my working days 'oooooooh I missed you all up!' and we touch foreheads.
Did/do you ever think about it? I mean if the ace new job hadn't come about or maybe even when rhys has a little sister (be quiet naughty weezl! Don't try to recruit for the PG thread
:D)
I know what you mean.. I think I'm the same. I'd turn Rhys into too much of a project! I do like working because I like having a purpose, feeling useful and completing things - the last one you don't get with a child, there is no "end" to development, iykwim. I don't think I'd feel like I'm fulfilling my potential as a SAHM.. a bit like, I'm an okay mum but I couldn't turn it into something I excel at
(whereas I feel like I excel at work.. a bit
).
Plus all this is hypothetical as I can't afford not to work!
But if I had the choice, I think I'd still have to work somehow, somewhere
As for Rhys having a little sister.. it'd better be sister, cos I have no ideas for a name of a little brother!
Mind you, won't be for a good few years yet.. time for you to have a third!

You certainly come across as all those things alreadyThis reminds me of something that happened to a woman I met at my HV led group. It was 30 degrees and her 7 week old was in the car, and she locked herself out of it and him inside at tescos. Him, and her mobile, cash, cards...She was so traumatised. She was alone, so didn't know if she should leave the car to get help or whether someone might break in and steal him, but she knew she had to get him out PDQ!
I hadn't realised how much of my self-confidence and identity is tied up in my work, so that's been a good realisation. I can start to make it be about other things.
I've been sat here pondering what I'd like my confidence to be built on instead and I think being a warm, loving parent, wife and friend is what I'd like to invest in more.
What a horrible situation - what did she do?
MM, I think Weezlie got you spot on there, I'm sorry you had a rubbish birthday

*stumbles in on shaking legs all red faced, panting and sweaty*
Do you know that I put on a stone when I gave up breast feeding? I'm now 15 stone!:eek::eek: See, that will totally shame me into losing some. I was 12stone 12 6 months after having DS2.
Wii fit plus is great! You know all that time you spend faffing about picking your next activity? It skips it, so you can do your 30mins in 30mins and it sets calorie goals. So I tota;;y worked off my ice cream
And the step aerobic that I could never do cos I can't keep a rythm and trip over my feet, has a new feature, 10mins of stepping free style and you hear your beat (or counting) through the remote so can watch telly. Pick 3 speeds. Very impressed.
MM, sorry about your birthday sweetie, hope you can have a special day later in the week!0 -
