Well dinner was a waste of time

Had to score the pork myself cos it was hardly done, and i wanted to try for perfet crackling, so scolded it, dried it, salted it etc. Put in oven as per Jamie Oliver instructinons on highest heat, and the skin promptly burnt.

Never mind, cut the burned bits off and tried again... It did work but not perfect.

Then DS decides to drop the plate of crackling all over the floor. Amber decides to want attention despite me making she was fed, clean and settled before dinner was ready.

I was shouting at DS for being so careless (he's sooo annoyingly clumsy) and Amber decides it's better that she !!!!!!. Cold dinner, no crackling, loads of washing up to do.

I'm going to bed in a minute :rotfl:

Aless, DH is at work till midnight so it's just me. But she has had some milk and a poo and hopefully she now seems tired, so she is back in her crib and should fall asleep soon.

jenny - I did find some baby swimming classes in London Bridge but they're full up on all the ones posted on the website (www.littledippers.co.uk). That was just a brief Google, I haven't gone back to look for more. But £114 for 6 weeks! Also, hope to see you on Thursday's sling meet! :D

We've done less swimming than I meant to Aless, but I just used the local swimming centre parent-and-baby sessions. No "teaching" going on, but one of the pools warmer than normal and barred to everyone but parent and young child groups. Very nice :)
My local was Tooting Leisure Centre but there were others around which did the same.

Is there a London slingmeet on Thursday?

weezl, do you still do stuff like that or was it times of insanity for you? :rotfl: I'm always curious, as I actually read your threads on OS well before 'seeing' you on the Preg thread. You're famous! :p

I still harvest nettles and I would definately roast a pig's head again, the meat was nomnomnom. Apart from snout. I wasn't keen on snout.

LOL at famous! One lovely lady came all the way from Lincolnshire to meet me (well as part of her holiday in Wales!) so I sometimes feel a bit embarrassed about being the 50p lady :o:D

Aw I would so love to come!! Do you think I could come and then pop onto a site in Manchester for a meeting in the afternoon (leaving Benjamin in the car with the window open a crack like a poor puppy in the summer!!)

This reminds me of something that happened to a woman I met at my HV led group. It was 30 degrees and her 7 week old was in the car, and she locked herself out of it and him inside at tescos. Him, and her mobile, cash, cards...She was so traumatised. She was alone, so didn't know if she should leave the car to get help or whether someone might break in and steal him, but she knew she had to get him out PDQ!

We all listened with our mouths wide open aghast! What a horrid situation!

Nomnomnom mixed veg, cucumber salad and a GIANT SLAB OF PORK for dinner. Molly's getting apple, banana and peach mush and is comically shuddering at the bitter edge the peach is giving it.

Hello Weezlie, how was your day?

    nice dinner :)

Day-wise, meh, not so good. My current work situation is making me question a lot. I think I am skilled at being a counsellor, but the jobs are hard to come by and mine has a bitter aftertaste now, just like Molly's peaches! :)

I hadn't realised how much of my self-confidence and identity is tied up in my work, so that's been a good realisation. I can start to make it be about other things.

I've been sat here pondering what I'd like my confidence to be built on instead and I think being a warm, loving parent, wife and friend is what I'd like to invest in more.

    Oooops, bit deep there.

On a lighter note. DH has cut fergie's baby mullet and little over the ear hair flaplets!

Ye gads he suddenly looks so grown up! (and it is not very neat at the back, kinda jaggedy. I am not going to say this tho because DH was doing his best, and is lovely. And also maybe doesn't have the same sentimentality about a baby stopping looking like a baby as me :D)

Hope everyone's well. There have been highs and lows for lots of my lovely parent club friends these past few days, but I can't write all that I want to say.

Please picture me as elle rightly said once, in the corner smiling :)

  • OK ,
firstly THANK YOU to everyone for your birthday wishes :)

and secondly, no one is ever allowed to complain about having a crap birthday ever again !! Mine beats them all

This morning, I had to do everything in the house cuz Chris was sick, I then had to get me and everyone else ready as Chris went back to bed. I left the kids at mums house and as I was leaving to go for my massage, I CRASHED THE CAR !!!!! Thankfully no one was hurt, I dented her car door and my bumper :o

I have been driving for 12 years and have never had any kind of accident ever and of all days for it to happen !! So £200 excess and a nice rise in my premiums from next month as my renewal is up

I had my massage, and as lovely as it was, it was only less than an hour after the accident so I couldnt really relax much.

SO Chris is still asleep and not feeling well, so no roast duck and no cheescake, felt sorry for myself so took Jas and me to McDs for dinner !!

Anyone wanna cheer me up ???
The two best things I have done with my life
