My [STRIKE]mum who's a nurse [/STRIKE]friend who's a dietician, said that the World Health Organisation set the guidelines of weaning at 6 months as breast milk is more sterile which is an issue in third world countries. It is not actually because babies are too young for food. The Dept of Health just set the same guidelines so that it's more straightforward.
Not saying that's definitely correct, but it's interesting to me nonetheless!
P.S. Joke was for the older kids amongst us. I hope someone gets is.
