  • Did anyone on here not have a good Christmas day? Mine was probably the worse I've had in my 29 years and every time I think about it I want to start crying I'm so angry.

Short version we went to OH's grandma's in the morning, she's in her 90s and no one else in OH's family were going to see her, ending up having to clean crap off her toilet seat, where she had just gone and pick up her incontinence pad where she'd left it on the floor. if I hadn't God knows how long it would have stayed there.

After that we went to OH's parents and were joined my one of his bro's and his wife + DD1 (age 2) and 10 mins before the meal was served his other bro and wife + DS1 (age 4) and DD2 (age 2). The meal was the usually eventful one with kiddies getting up all the time, which was fine and I thought would happen, but afterwards OH and I ended up clearing up after everyone, with no help from any of them, while one of them held my baby!

OH and I are sooo upset and I feel so angry and used. I can't believe it was my son's first christmas and I ended up cleaning up crap and everything for 11 people while they all sat on their !!!!!!. I didn't expect OH's folks to clear up, as they had made the meal of course, but when they found out what had happened at grandma's they didn't even bring me a bunch of flowers (they popped in today to see us).

It's OH mum's birthday tues and I really don't want to go and see all of them again. It's being held at the bro's house who turned up 10 mins before the meal.

Am I making too much of this or would anyone else feel like a mug?

Sorry to take away the thread christmas cheer. :-(

    Bearx

Elle - I spy a few pressies in Rhys' haul that Caitlin received too! The bib, "That's not my polar bear", the Vtech crawl ball and the froggy bath toy. What did you think to Victoria Wood on Xmas Eve? We watched about 10 mins of it (not from the beginning) but didn't laugh once, so turned over.

Dylan has the bib, and Leila and Edgar have the crawl ball too :D

I know what you mean about VW.. I didn't pay much attention to it until the song at the end which I'd heard before but still think is funny :o

Thanks choppy, I will have a scout round. When I have finished looking at the ASOS maternity sale:)

elle - I think a ball pool would be great for Rhys and would definitely last a while:)

BM - I wouldn't be happy about my dh going to a strip club, but then I am incredibly insecure so would never be able to get it out of my head that he wasn't always comparing me to them...although I always think he does that now anyway, with anyone and everyone...but I would be furious if it also meant he 'needed' loads of money!!!!!

SM - I already knew before christmas what I was getting Kai for his birthday...basically it's the things that I couldn't afford to get him for christmas.

I saw that Leila had one but didn't know Edgar had one too. I didn't know about Dylan's bib either. We have such good taste :D

I'm not sure whether we'll be keeping the crawl ball though. DH and I bought presents for Caitlin individually so I didn't know what he was buying Caitlin, and vice-versa. I bought the crawl ball and he bought this. Apart from them being different shapes, they both do pretty much the same thing, so we think maybe we should take one of them back and get her something else.

We didn't get as far as the end to watch the VW song :o

Bear - sorry to hear about your Xmas. I wouldn't be very enthusiastic about going either :(

    Nice one SM:D

I am checking argos/amazon etc for the items we couldn't get him and see if any are in the sales..... well after checking out best prices on Dune...and remembering to try quidco for wherever I see it. Please keep reminding me of quidco I am very forgetful lately.

  • We're going to have to go, as it would cause a row if we didn't and OH is too much of a gent (damn him!) to do that to his mum on her birthday.

I just wish we weren't so soft and got trampled by everyone. Is there such a thing as a peaceful protest?
