I am kind of meal planning weekly. But if I see things on special in the supermarket then I buy it and freeze it and then do my weekly meal plans around what I have in if that makes sense. so the other week I was in Asda and saw that they had 2 chickens for 8 so bought them even though I wasn't using them that week. But I can build them into my meal plan over the next few weeks. So it's weekly althought I kind of plan ahead a couple of weeks, but change things about as I go. I could really do with a chest freezer in the garage though as my fridge freezer doesn't seem to hold much!
I am so anal, I have so many spreadsheets and lists! That's why I am never off the laptop!
I bought Holly these new sleepsuits on Friday from Next - she only had pale pink/pastsel ones as most stuff we got as presents were 3-6 which she is in now. I like a bit of a mix. Girly is fine, but like funkier stuff too.0 -
Very cute Beenie - and I too love the new avatar csh
Have been flying around like a mad thing here, thanks to whoever put up the ebay reminder - ten items now for sale, flat vacuumed and a bag of not-charity clothing rescued from the charity box because Husband put it there...
Plus cleaning and tidying in the living room, dining room and bedroom, orchestrating a classifieds sale, feeding and entertaining the baby, vacuuming the entire flat and various other sundry bits. Phew!Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
Three gifts left to buy0 -
And she used to ones with really brightly coloured big spots all over them from Mothercare. We called it her clown suit and said she looked like grandpa! ha ha.
And by the way, it's soooo embarrassing when your dad picks you up in full make up to take you somewhere as everyone stares! Or when he asks me to buy him a red lipstick (in public)! lol. I imagine Emlou has it a bit worse though ha ha.0 -

Feelie Toby does win the award for the baby with the coolest babygrows! Are they all bought, or are you creative? I was thinking maybe the tie-dye ones could be cheapo white asda ones customised?
(Would home dye be ok for babies?
)
Do you think that maybe he thinks that he doesn't need to help with any of the highlighted above, because he moved into an established household where you'd always done everything yourself?
I was thinking the same. When OH moved in with us, I was used to being on my own and doing everything for myself and J & L. So I suppose for the first year or so, I carried on and OH was spoilt! Its ok now though, i've trained him well.
I've not been on much over the weekend - just popping on now while I wait for the iron to warm up.
Hope everyone is ok and enjoying the weekend.
I had a minor crisis, the washing machine took a funny and wouldn't drain or rinse, so was stuck with 31 minutes to go, for most of yesterday!
OH unhooked the drain this morning to find a huge ball of my hair in it , so now the 5th load of the day is on and I look forward to ironing it later.
Hope to 'see' you all later.:beer:0 -
Beenie - I agree about new babies. It's easier for them and for you if they have sleepsuits on etc. I don't see the point in upsetting them by faffing about with buttons and tights, but I did feel pressured that I wasn't dressing H right because people kept talking about the outfits they had bought and I got paranoid about taking her out in a sleepsuit! I still do it now sometimes though!
Hi all. Just catching up but just wanted to join in the sleepsuit convo. I met up with the antenatal girls on Friday and dressed Toby in a sleepsuit. Mainly cos I was putting him in his snowsuit for the journey over and thought an outfit would be a squish underneath and more hassle. Also I think he looks cute in sleepsuits
Well when I got there all the other 4 babies were in proper outfits. I didnt think much of it but when I showed DH the photo of them all together he mentioned it. So we decided we would try more proper outfits during the day.
Well on Sat we visited friends so we put him in jeans and t shirt and tank top and fake ugg boots. He did look sweet, but we changed him back into a sleepsuit once we were home as he looked all bunched up in the outfit and it kept riding up!! I think I will just use his outfits for when we are going out and keep him in sleepsuits at home.

I've just sat down for a min cos I burnt myself on a pan and went all woozy
Have been cooking up more fruit and veg for Rhys - done apple, butternut squash and carrots. Parsnips and swede to go
OH has gone to make a start on the walls and left Rhys on his playgym, with Rugrats on the tv (although Rhys is now fast asleep!). I used to watch Rugrats on a Saturday morning about twenty years ago! :eek:0
