That's a good idea. My cousin hired their church hall, and just had lots of toys out, then she hired the lady they do kindermusic (or something similar) with. That was really fun. It was a bit hectic though, as she has an older son too, and some of her friends were on baby number two, so there were some older kids we had to watch out for a bit! I'm sure they were fine, but when Izzy was smaller the big boistrous boys running about made me a bit nervous. She is big enough to stand up to them, or at least get out of their way now - nursery is good for some things :rotfl:.

Poor you I hope you feel a bit better this morning. If you don't have any joy with the council you could try the CAB (might be worth speaking to them anyway?) And :mad: at your ex. Not sure what to suggest there, other than to try not to expect too much, and then you won't be disapointed. Don't stop him from visiting his baby, but leave the ball in his court if you see what I mean. (that's what I would do if it were me anyway)... I don't know the story, but take it he was off the scene while you were pregnant?

Would rather of waited until after payday but I won't ever do it without a push. I'm in shock here - Izzy has eaten ALL of her breakfast without any messing about (she dropped on bit on the floor, but I handed it back to her and it's gone now)! Either we have turned a corner, or she was REALLY hungry :rolleyes:.

What Weezl said is pretty close to my experience. I've had buttocks and tops of thighs done as well - probably because at the time I was complaining about a tightness right up the back of one leg. They don't do anything surreal and different, really it just has more time spent on it all Enjoy!

Beenie, I failed to quote you - but your council should have a 24/7 noise complaints service?? Places I've lived always have done, because of course one of the most important times when noise is an issue is at night...
On top of that, I'm right in saying you live on a council estate? There will be an estate manager responsible for the general running of the estate and tenants sticking to their tenancy agreements and all that sort of thing. If the noise section at the council aren't being as helpful as you want, you could go to the estate manager with more of a 'antisocial behaviour/relationships broken down' type approach rather than just saying there's loud noise (in which case they would direct you back to the noise section possibly).

I hope that made sense - we went through a slightly similar thing which ended up with us moving house (which we had wanted to do anyway for space), but not before we'd given witness statements, had them issued fines and confiscation orders for the stereo, etc etc.

Do you know what I mean though? I think newborns tend to be either red and rumpled and shouty and wrinkled up, or solemn and huge-eyed and starey

Nope actually, no daddy Fergie - it's the other one!

OH seems better and calmed down for the moment, fingers crossed.

How are things, does your Fergie pay any attention to your growing bump? Is sleep any better yet? Still lots of erratically-timed posts from you :rolleyes:

I have resigned myself to the fact that I have absolutely no hope of keeping up with you lovely people I feel awful if I miss things but my baby just no likey me being on here for longer than it takes to feed (usually about 5 mins!)

Well we have a bit of news - we have a tooth poking its way through! I've seen in for the last couple of days, but actually felt it yesterday. I'm happy but a bit sad cos it means she won't be my tiny baby for much longer!

BLW is going ok, so far she's had toast, crumpet, pasta, garlic bread, carrot, potato, apple, pear, banana. Got her a few organix bits from sainsburys but she doesn't seem keen, especially not the rice cakes (but TBH I think they're vile and bland too! She also likes ready brek and petis filous.

Right she'st trying to type for me and jump out my arms so I'm offski. Will try and catch you all later !

No I didn't write anything down, but I did explain her routine to my Mam and have told her things as we go along. For example, she's not potty trained yet, but Mam knows she is at the stage where she keeps wanting to try, so my Mam bought a potty and some cheap knickers in case she wants a try at their house.

It has caused friction at times when my Mam has gone against what I've asked her to do. At first I used to let it go and then get upset at home, so I've had to be firm with her and state stuff, which still feels a bit weird to do. Things like feeding her loads of sweet stuff at lunchtime, so she was bouncing off the walls all afternoon and then horrid at tea time, whereas if she has a low sugar lunch, she'll have her nap and be happy when she gets up. Mam never saw the hyper then tantrum bit and didn't think she was doing any harm.

Overall it's been good for Charlotte though and the best bit is I can leave her there when she is sick, but you can't usually do that with nursery or childminders. Mam also has the older two in the school holidays. My Dad has really enjoyed having her. He had a job with long hours (teacher) when we were little and when my boys were little, but he's retired from teaching now and has a part time afternoon job. He's really enjoyed seeing Charlotte grow and develop and he's seen loads of little things he missed out on with us and my boys.

*hugs* Beanie Cat. Hope you get something sorted out. I would get onto environmental health and your local councillor and MP, to see if there is anything that can be done. Keep a diary of events such as noise, door knocking and any confrontation. That will help build a case against the neighbours.

I've got the Mousey Brown song stuck in my head. It's Charlotte's favourite and she sings it over and over. She also likes Lady Gaga and runs round yelling "ra ra ra raaa". I was being silly with the boys one day and sang "caught in Craig's underpants" rather than "caught in a bad romance". She overhead and thinks that is the name of the song now, and keeps saying "want to listen to Craig's underpants" :rotfl:

I think Fergie just thinks he has a mummy that is this shape! He can still sit on my lap which is good, and sometimes when he is sitting on my lap Kester kicks him in the back :rotfl:he looked round at me the other day, in a kind of, 'eh?' way!

Yeah sleep still all over the place Filed my tax return at 5 am yesterday, so trying to use the time productively

Morning all.

Congrats Bruno, morning everyone else and big huge hugs to beenie.

Sorry can't catch up more but you all talk too much and I'm a slow reader cos there is so much to do here I keep having to stop and start.

Lovely parents looked after Kezia yesterday so I could go to the dentist. Yay, I can now have some more of my Christmas Chocolates. They have been taunting me all week but I didn't dare eat any incase more tooth came out or it hurt. Anyway, filled for the minute and booked in for a Crown end of Feb (for free, very MSE).

Going back to subject of HV, (a few days ago now I think - told you I was slow). I left a message Wed evening asking for someone to ring me Thurs to discuss what was causing Kezia to be so unhappy in the evenings and she rang me back 10am thurs and came round at 10.45. Lovely lady, brought load of weaning information too, told me how great I was, weighed Kezia since I hadn't been able to get it done due to snow, told me how great I was again, played with Kezia and told her how great a mummy she had. She did have some suggestions for evenings but no different than you have all said and so far I'm not having a lot of joy. Maybe that is just her crying time and since I'm still getting 10+ hours sleep per night I should shut up and be grateful.

I love my HV's. lol.

Finally the snow is all gone though it is raining now. If it holds off later I might pop to the supermarket with the Kari-me. Finally got it and hardly had chance to use it because of the weather. Kezia is now 13lb exactly so I really want to start getting used to carrying that weight so it doesn't seem that big a deal as she gets heavier. Plus I need the exercise. Can't believe how much I enjoyed the 200 yard walk to pick the car up this week, and walking around town yesterday was just bliss.

Anyway, I'll shut up now, hope you all have a great day - I'll pop back if Kezia decides to sleep today. (too excited by grandparents yesterday I think, which didn't help the mood last night).

Alice keeps saying don't leave me at the moment (or rather, "Don't left me.") This morning she got upset because I set off downstairs while she was picking up her teddy bears.

We did give Alice 7oz of formula spread between two bottles on night 3 and one on night 4 when I was so sore I couldn't face feeding. It was Cow and Gate because OH went to get it from 24hr Tesco in the middle of the night and he chose it because they had given us a free toy cow. I'm thinking that next time it won't be as bad because I'm more prepared for what it will be like. (It was made much more stressful by the fact that all the leaflets tell you that it only hurts if you are doing it wrong which is a complete lie.) However, I am saving a small amount of breastmilk just in case I do feel in need of a break from the pain in the first few days. I realise you are not supposed to keep breastmilk that long but if I used it I would make sure it was well heated through first (and obviously cooled afterwards).

When I have trouble with companies I usually start by phoning and then if it drags on without being resolved I just write to someone like the chief executive or managing director.
