Elle - Mum has looked after DD since I went back to work when she was 9 months old, but she does go to a proper childminder once a week now in preparation for playgroup later this year (so she's used to asking a non-relative for things). Mum and I have a similar style eg not behaving 3 warnings then on the stairs

As mum looks after her at my house I just don't have the treats in the house I just make sure there are other kinds of treat she likes (olives, dried fruit, fruit etc) available. Mum covers the cost of the toddler groups I just provide lunch. All treats are advised of in advance.

TV she prefers programmes like Boogie Beebies (aerobics for toddlers), Waybaloo (Yoga) and her sing along videos so she can dance!

When I first went back to work I did write down her daily routine so mum had a good idea of when she would be tired etc.

There's nothing written down for the childminder but then she knows her from toddler group anyway and seen how mum deals with her. The only extra thing I had to sign for the CM was an authorisation for her to give Katie medicine should she need to (Calpol etc).

Communication is the key, if something isn't working discuss it.

Just another thought.. perhaps silly but, what if LO does something big for the first time (walking, new words, etc etc)? Do you want to know they did it without you there, or would you rather Grandma kept stum and let LO do it for you "first"? Knowing my mum, she'd phone me straight up at work :rolleyes:

I will have to write all this down for Mum.. she's forgetful, and will fret that she's forgotten something. Plus definitely have to have the medication all written down anyway

I'm going to the gym in the morning tomorrow *SCREEEEAAAAMMMMSS*

Would rather of waited until after payday but I won't ever do it without a push. Anyways going with my friend Tanya, then we are going into town so I can look for a new dress or top, to wear out at night with her, we are going out for drinks in town Feel kinda bad cause I'll barely see Keira all day but OH has plans to take her out to the park etc, and on Sunday think we are going up to OH's mums to spend the day there.

WHY DO I ALWAYS FEEL BAD? I think it's because she is like OH DONT LEAVE ME!

Elle - my mum was fearful of this as well as she knew that they'd extra special with her being our little miracle.

But her first steps were in front of DH and I.

My theory is that a child will do new things when they feel most secure (with parents).

But I had asked mum to keep schtum about walking if she did for her first.

Right I'm off DH is getting up for work in a minute and I've got swimming in about 7.5 hours!

things always included: neck, back, shoulders, backs and sometimes fronts of legs, usually head (so no point washing your hair!) arms hands, feet. V occasionally decollete but only down as far as a low cut top might go in the summer. Never: tummy, thighs above 6-8 inches from your bum, breasts.

Sometimes I decide to go for something from SUMA because I can get the organic version with a smaller price jump. Some things are just obscure things which you would only get in health food shops and are therefore always cheaper from SUMA (such as coconut oil and date syrup). (I apologise for the poor structure of this paragraph - I just wrote things in random order as I thought.)

Has anyone else used Hipp organic cos of the organicness IYSWIM?

We get it when it's cheapest, but it gums up the teat a bit and fergie gets frustrated

DH hopefully finishing the drylining today, so I need to do more jobs than I usually do at weekends whilst pregnant! Fergie tends to become a bit of a daddy's job at the weekends atm

Have a RL friend over this afternoon though, which is great, cos hopefully she'll carry him up for afternoon nap. (this is the worst bit for my back and bump, so always really lovely when someone's there )

Pleased I've done my tax returns even though my liability is £100 over what I'd budgetted

ps mm feel free to ignore this question: if Halifax mortgages have made an error and sent a scary letter on the basis of it implying I would receive charges, is there any point writing to complain, or is it better to just stick with ringing call centres and asking for things to be corrected and to keep trying to be sweet and nice about it?

That's a good idea. My cousin hired their church hall, and just had lots of toys out, then she hired the lady they do kindermusic (or something similar) with. That was really fun. It was a bit hectic though, as she has an older son too, and some of her friends were on baby number two, so there were some older kids we had to watch out for a bit! I'm sure they were fine, but when Izzy was smaller the big boistrous boys running about made me a bit nervous. She is big enough to stand up to them, or at least get out of their way now - nursery is good for some things :rotfl:.

Poor you I hope you feel a bit better this morning. If you don't have any joy with the council you could try the CAB (might be worth speaking to them anyway?) And :mad: at your ex. Not sure what to suggest there, other than to try not to expect too much, and then you won't be disapointed. Don't stop him from visiting his baby, but leave the ball in his court if you see what I mean. (that's what I would do if it were me anyway)... I don't know the story, but take it he was off the scene while you were pregnant?

She will be fine once you've gone. Just remember she will be having some quality time with Daddy And you need some grown-up time too Have a great day.

I'm in shock here - Izzy has eaten ALL of her breakfast without any messing about (she dropped on bit on the floor, but I handed it back to her and it's gone now)! Either we have turned a corner, or she was REALLY hungry :rolleyes:.

What Weezl said is pretty close to my experience. I've had buttocks and tops of thighs done as well - probably because at the time I was complaining about a tightness right up the back of one leg. They don't do anything surreal and different, really it just has more time spent on it all Enjoy!

Beenie, I failed to quote you - but your council should have a 24/7 noise complaints service?? Places I've lived always have done, because of course one of the most important times when noise is an issue is at night...
On top of that, I'm right in saying you live on a council estate? There will be an estate manager responsible for the general running of the estate and tenants sticking to their tenancy agreements and all that sort of thing. If the noise section at the council aren't being as helpful as you want, you could go to the estate manager with more of a 'antisocial behaviour/relationships broken down' type approach rather than just saying there's loud noise (in which case they would direct you back to the noise section possibly).

I hope that made sense - we went through a slightly similar thing which ended up with us moving house (which we had wanted to do anyway for space), but not before we'd given witness statements, had them issued fines and confiscation orders for the stereo, etc etc.

Do you know what I mean though? I think newborns tend to be either red and rumpled and shouty and wrinkled up, or solemn and huge-eyed and starey

Nope actually, no daddy Fergie - it's the other one!

OH seems better and calmed down for the moment, fingers crossed.

How are things, does your Fergie pay any attention to your growing bump? Is sleep any better yet? Still lots of erratically-timed posts from you :rolleyes:
