I'm fed up of this weather now, i'm not good at stopping at home for too long. 5 days since i last left my home, and i'm going crazy now. Probably doesn't sound long, but i live in a flat so elliot is fed up too and keeps pulling me to the door to go out! I had planned to attempt going out today, but my hubby accidentally took the pushchair to work with him (in boot of car). Great!! Couldn't even get a taxi to my moms as no car seat-and no way risking that in this weather and the way taxi drivers drive! Gggrrr!

He did ask me outright if I was depressed (which I'm not) but there was no subtle questioning around it which I had half expected. Is this normal? He did all the right checks on Henry, so I'm not too worried, it just wasn't what I'd expected.
My 6 week check was even less than that! The doctor just asked if my section scar was healing - didn't even offer to look. Asked if I was feeling okay, and if I was *really* feeling okay when I said yes. Asked what contraception I was thinking about. That was it! No checks on Elena, though she did prescribe me some infant gaviscon for her when I said she was very windy and a bit sicky. All the proper checks were done on Elena at her 8 week jabs appointment.
Oh yes, and meant to say good luck MM!0 -
Thanks feelie...Dont know about overfeeding him - HV was really pleased with him when she came round
The old advice used to be to feed them based on weight/age (like with formula) but new research suggests this might not be true. Most HVs are clueless about expressing and giving EBM, so it is usually worth doing your own research. The Kellymom site and forum has loads of great info about expressing. That said, I never could limit LO, he was and still is a very hungry baby.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0 -
Hello everyone!
Exciting news from me today is that I managed to turn a 4+ hour train trip, 90 minute interview and 4+ hour trip back (planned by an overenthusiastic someone for me to do tomorrow) into an hour-long Skype conference. Also, Husband and Molly have just gone out and left me to my own devices, so I'm going to vacuum, put some stuff away and then settle down with a cup of posh leaf tea and some chocolates.
I had a 10-day check and a six week check, and at the six week check I also had an ultrasound to make sure everything in there was ok. There's something to be said for paying for mandatory health insurance...Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Completely off topic, but is it sad that I'm finding it rather amusing that I have a mini herd of cows called Ferne, Tallulah, Natalie and Kerry? I've started collecting the codes from anchor butter cartons - should have been doing this for months but kept forgetting  - and the site has named the cows
(and yes, I do know I am rather sad)Hope I can collect enough to get something nice before the end of march! Aiming for the baking set which is worth 25 cows

Thanks for this Feelie - I've been trying to find out how much EBM babies should get, but all the websites I've looked at, have it based on weight - even Andrew's discharge notes from NICU suggested a weight-based calculation (210ml/kg), which we did stick to in terms of increasing his amount, but which the Outreach Midwives were surprised by because it seemed too much to them!
Anyway, for the record, he's now on 18-21 oz/day, depending on how long he sleeps through the night. I'm still managing to pump around 21 oz/day too.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

I heard rumours that they might all be going on strike :cool:I am probably feeding him 90% bottle and 10% breast as they seem to fill up too quick and he cant take it (forceful let down thing?) and is always sick when I breastfeed, it doesnt happen when he has EBM on bottle...he has the odd bottle of formula (last thing at night).Someone should tell that woman she isn't a clown car,A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Question, Erin has been told to bring trainers and tracky bottoms to school tomorrow as they are going down to the field to play tag rugby. Should I say she can't or put up and shut up. First it's really cold, and been raining loads, so apart from not being nice her trainers will be ruined and then she'll have to change in school and if they are wet or anything it's not like they can have a shower. What does everyone think?Too many children, too little time!!!0
