hiya Jillie :) how are you today?

searchie, sorry your friend is being unsupportive :(

Onee RL mummy friend and I have a voucher system, we each made the other one 10 2hr vouchers out of an old cereal box and can cash them in for babysitting. Maybe if you did that when she's used hers up she'd realise that she actually needs to do some for you or she'll have no more to spend! :rotfl:

i like that idea :D ... the thing is for the last 3 times we had them the night fair few times philips stayed the night at her while shes been out the night .. we've only asked her a hand full of times to have jayden or zoe (i do think its unfair for her to have both since shes a single parent) always during in the day at mo 5 hours never above that .. so just think its abit unfair x
    :)Still searching .....:)

the ironing fairy here has gone on strike. DH is ironing his own shirts for work as i cba :D and staying in bed as Kian is having another sleep after he first wakes up so i'm having an extra sleep too.

I should bloody well think so too! Luckily DH goes to work in t-shirts, so we don't have that debate. But he knows he has to sort himself out in the mornings. Sometimes we give him a lift to the bus station, which I don't mind too much, as long as we are awake anyway - if he walks he has to leave by about 6:50, but if we give him a lift he gets an extra 20 mins with Izzy :)

Question, Erin has been told to bring trainers and tracky bottoms to school tomorrow as they are going down to the field to play tag rugby. Should I say she can't or put up and shut up. First it's really cold, and been raining loads, so apart from not being nice her trainers will be ruined and then she'll have to change in school and if they are wet or anything it's not like they can have a shower. What does everyone think?

Does she want to do it? If so then maybe send her in with an extra (clean and dry!) change of clothes and some baby wipes? If not then I think Sami is right, she has hurt her back :rotfl:. (I prescribe a hot bath and some chocolate... for mummy!)
Where was the interview Ladybird? Is it a bit closer to home? Yay for pics of Izzy :j.

Yep, loads closer. I'm only applying for things I can walk to. I drive about 30 miles each way at the mo . I worked out earlier that the extra cost of childcare (I'm applying for FT so we can afford to move again in a few years and then ttc before going PT again.) will only be slightly more than the saving I will be making in petrol. Plus I can get tax credits/ccv towards childcare ;)

Pictures taken. Will upload them after Izzy is in bed!

trying to start getting organised for going back to work.
have to try and figure out whats best. have had a look at entitled to w/site and things may not be as bad as i thought. will have to wait and see. wish you could ring them up and say.. if i get this much wages, how much will you give me? would make things a lot easier

I agree! been trying to work out how much CTC & WTC (if any) I would get if I went down to 3 days a week but I get nothing extra even though I lose 6K a year in salary! so unfair

MM - hope meeting went well

there was loads more I wanted to say but it's gone straight out my head.
    I'll remember in a bit

lady - hope interview went OK

Jack had jabs & we've just had a right old screaming fit - his leg was bright red where they gave 2 in one leg. Calpol has settled him now and leg is returning to normal slowly.

made apple & pear puree - struggled abit as quite thick but will worry about that when I defrost them & add water! need to get a hand blender cos my smoothie maker doesnt do the job! got some carrot & parsnip ready to steam later.

Jack slep from 8pm til 6am - I slept thru my alarm & OH waking me so DF was done at 11.30pm! after 6am bottle he went back down til 9am.

not had much snow here but roads are evil - I almost came into my close sideways earlier!

right, need to do my chores and hope that Jack stays asleep

eta - yay for another tooth fergie & a tooth for Choppy's Caitlin!

For those who asked about our (BLW) food diary:
(unless I state otherwise, anything was roughly the shape/size of a carrot stick or a chip)

Also while typing this up, I've remembered that in the first few weeks when we were mainly giving single vegetables, we saved a suitable quantity when we had them for dinner and popped them in tub in the fridge so that we had them available at meals when we weren't eating them. Meat would usually last more than one day anyway so we would have that available in the fridge any time we had it.

    Week 1
    Mon: Lunch: parsnip
    Tues: Lunch: parsnip
Wed: Lunch: boiled onion (we cut the onions into quarteres so there were nice big pieces to get hold of and gave her two or three of the largest bits)
    Fri: Lunch: onion
    Sunday: Breakfast: (sourdough) bread
(as we were concerned about potential allergies due to OH's peanut allergy we stuck to single foods initially and took it quite slowly but that was our chioce rather than a necessary feature of BLW)

    Week 2
    M B: bread
T B: bread L: lamb This was the first thing she actively chewed and sucked and seemd to particularly enjoy.
    W B: bread L: lamb
T B: bread L: boiled egg (we quartered it and gave her one piece)
    S B: lamb
S B: banana (we just cut off a piece maybe 2-3" long) This was the first thing where she got bits off it and into her mouth which she mainly spat out but she did get one piece in far enough to gag on it. (The gagging reflex protects them from actual choking.)

    Week 3
    Th: B: banana
    F B: courgette (slice around 1cm thick)
    S L: carrot
S B: pancake - this is homemade pancake where you soak the flour overnight in buttermilk and it comes out similar to Scotch pancakes. I think we just gave her a piece around 1x2"

(You may notice that the meals given are rather haphazard - I think at this point we were aiming to generally do at least one meal a day out of breakfast and lunch but weren't too worried about whether we actually did it every day as she wasn't actually eating the stuff. Also we missed three whole days out due to Alice having a really bad cold.)

    Week 4
    M B: courgette
    T B: carrot
    W B: banana L: carrot
T B: courgette, spoon which had been dipped in porridge (she got some bits of porridge in her mouth and the raspberried them out) L: leek (I don't actually remember this but I think we probably just cut the leek into 1" slices.)
    F B: courgette L: leek
    S B: leek
    S B: porridge L: cabbage and chicken

    Week 5
M B: cheese L: cornish wafer (this was the biscuit for cheese with the least ingredients in it)
T B: porridge L: goose and sprouts (the sprouts were just whole - this was Christmas day) If the link works you can see her with the goose and sprouts. You can also see a plate with a piece of carrot, parsnip and some more goose which has reminded me of the fact that we used to have multiple pieces of food for her so that if she accidentally dropped it on the floor, we had another piece to give her.
W B: salmon and cream cheese parcels (this was our starter from Christmas Dinner)
    T B: cheese L: goose and celeriac
    F B: cheese
    S B: porridge
    S B: cheese

Week 6 (I'll stop listing each individual meal and just list what items we gave over a week)
cheese, parsnip, porridge, carrot, peach, bread and butter, bread dipped in chilli, chip (at this point we usually ate dinner after Alice had gone to bed but she was randomly refusing to sleep and brought her downstairs while we ate and have her a chip to keep her happy as we were eating fish and chips)

Week 7 (At this point she started actually consuming some stuff as we would see that she'd got bits off the food but they wouldn't be there when we were clearing up.)
porridge, bread, cheese and cornish wafer, lasagne, leek from Susini Sausages, mushroom, jerusalem artichoke, pancake.

    Week 8
bread and cheese, chicken, swede, cabbage, lamb, bread and butter, apple porridge, clementine segments.

Week 9 (on holiday Mon to Fri)
cheese and cornish wafer, cucumber, piece of ham/cheese toastie, cheese, peppers from spanish omlette, salmon fishcakes, tea loaf, porridge, parsnip, chicken, carrot.

Week 10 (We had four days where we didn't give Alice any solids as the landlord had damp proofing work done so the kitchen (and the living room) was almost completely out of use for that time and we were living in our bedroom. Since she wasn't actually consumiing anything of any significance we didn't think it worth the hassle.)
cheese and cornish wafer, apple and sultana porridge, cucumber, mushroom from Pizza Hut pizza, pancakes.

Week 11 (By this stage we were able to give smaller pieces than at the start as evidenced by the prawn, peas and sweetcorn.)
apple and sultana porridge, mushroom and prawn from stirfry, cheese, cabbage, chicken, orange segment, peas, sweetcorn and carrot, pancakes.

    Week 12
apple and sultana porridge, kiwi fruit, cheese, prawns and peas with seafood sauce, sprout, carrot, pancake, olive, green pepper and mushroom. (The last three were off a pizza.)

Week 13 (This was the first week where there was evidence of food going all the way through. We also started always giving two meals every day.)
porridge, duck, sprout, carrot, vegetable pasta dish (broccoli, leek, olives, swede and tomato), hot cross bun, banana, orange, pancake, cucumber, red onion, peppers. (The last three must have been from a salad on a meal out.)

Week 14 (Obviously eating food - we started putting more porridge on the spoon and eventually switched to giving a bowl of it but couldn't say exactly when we switched.)
porridge, cream cheese, dried apricot, spaghetti in cheese sauce, cheese, lamb, cauliflower, sauted courgette, pancakes, chicken, sprout and carrot.

Week 15 (Started giving three meals a day although actual quantities were still fairly small.)
porridge, cream cheese sandwich, cheese, raisins, sultanas, cheese on toast, hot cross bun, liver, carrot, swede, grapes (cut in half to avoid choking), egg on toast, bread and butter, lamb, potato, peas, sweetcorn, pancake.

Week 16-20 (Only listing foods/meals not previously mentioned.)
    cheese omlette
    lamb sandwich
    tuna and mayonaise
    lettuce
pasta, leek and courgette in cheese sauce
babybel cheese (this was on a long car journey - we still buy them now for long journeys)
    tuna and cheese on toast
    sardines in tomato sauce
    tuna sandwich
tuna and quinoa pilaf (which she didn't like because OH put too much white pepper in - we didn't like it either)
pasta and veg from a soup (scooped out using slotted spoon)
cream cheese and tomato on toast
gone wrong birthday cake by OH (which she also didn't like)
    pineapple
    broad beans
    salmon and veg pasta
    potato wedges
    fruit loaf
    pea risotto

A few years back, I booked Josh on a holiday football course. The few days leading up the course, we had torrential rain storms, and when we got there, the pitch was thick of mud. The staff said we could leave the children or have a refund.

Many went, but the ones who stayed had a fantastic time rolling around in the mud. When I picked him up, he was literally caked from head to foot in it, and I taken bin bags for him to sit on to protect the car seats. Made him strip off in the porch and go straight in the shower and his kit went straight in the machine.

He still talks about how much fun he had those two days, so I'm pleased I let him stay and join in.

If she wants to do it, I would let her. Muck doesn't hurt and they'll probably have a great time.
Here I go again on my own....

    oh was all ok?
I know there is a lot of stick aimmed at them in the US but at the end of the day they're children are all looked after well so who cares :)
Just had a search around and found this which indicates she was doing okay yesterday at one month old.

well yes I don't mind if they are teased about the silly naming but lots of people say they're disugusting, freaks etc. I mean I love kids but hell would need to freeze over before I'd agree to give birth to 19 of them  but as I say they seem good parents.
I agree about the names thing being silly but other than that, if they want to have that many children and are doing a decent job then why shouldn't they.
