Elle, we were shown around our Childrens Centre's sensory room a while back and its fantastic. So relaxing and calming - Poppy and Jamie were mesmerised!

We get what is labelled as greek natural yoghurt, because it is the only one in tesco that isn't low fat. I'm not sure what the difference is tbh!

Can't wait to see what Rhys makes of itNever realised we had anything like that in one of the normal Childrens' Centres. I thought it's be in the Child Development Centre which is at the main hospital (and you'd only be able to use it when referred)
I'm going to one CC tomorrow, then the one for the 8mth check is in a different part of town and then there's one even closer to our house. Really must pay attention and find out what they all offer.
Is there ever anything to say you should stick to the one closest to you.. and you have to fib if you want to go to another one?
Oh, just remembered we're going to a group at yet another CC on Thursday too.. Childrens' Centre overload this month!0 -

My baby can drink with a straw. :T Does this make her a genius? I seem to remember J & L really struggling getting the idea of straws when they were much bigger than V is.That's a good idea Sami. Does the maintenance affect my tax creds? I'm a doley at the mo too so on income support, no idea what anything affects. Possibly the housing benefit? Gawd life was simpler working, so complicated now!
The CM you get is only important if you're getting IS. It has no effect on tax credits or housing benefit any more. If you have any questions, PM me. (With the CSA trying to ring you today, i take it you've applied?)SeptemberBaby wrote: »Elle, you are right! Babbling was on the check list and we had to have a recall as he wasn't saying 'baba, mama, dada' at his 8m check (even though he was only 7m!).
Bruno, clapping was also on the list but HV wasn't overly concerned with this and said not many do it at 8m anyway.
He babbled and clapped at 8.5m

Are we the only area who don't have and 8 month check? Ours is at 12 months, when I imagine theres more chance of them being able to clap, point and say Mama, dada etc?
V is 11 months now and can do all these things, but only recently. I don't think she could do any at 8 months.
Which reminds me, i'm still registered at the Dr's I went to as a child, about 5 miles from home, in the most chavtastic part of town. But, I really like my Dr. which is why we haven't moved.
We went down there today for Liv to see the doc. She's got a sinusy viral thingy - nothing calpol won't sort out. But, Tuesday afternoon is baby clinic and it was dreadful. I'm really not a snob , and maybe I am very old to have a baby. But all the other mums there looked about 14 and spent the time we were in the waiting room shouting at their children.
The best was a girl, with a little boy in the buggy, a little older than V, maybe 15-18 months old. He was playing with a can of impulse. He was playing with it for ages so I assumed it was his 'cuddly'. After a while, he got the lid of, put the top in his mouth, and you clearly heard it spray. Lovely mum snatched it, put the lid back on, passed it back to him saying 'if you don't keep the f'ing lid on, i'll take the f'ing thing off you!'.
Maybe I should look into changing Doctors.
Good evening everyone btw.:beer:0 -
