Elle, I knew there was something i meant to ask. I saw you had your 8 month check. When i got to mine the HV said the appts went out automatically but if they'd realised then i wouldnt have been called till 10 months as she was early. I asked what they would check to see if she was able to do any of it and to save us another visit and she said it didnt matter as they'd still have to do it at 10 months as she wasnt officially 8 months till then!!

I take it yours is not the same as i see you have your appt for around his 8 month mark?

Who asked about CalCold the other day? Was it AF? I've got some in the cupboard if there's anything you wanted to me to check on the leaflet.

I phoned to ask today because we've had no letter. Spoke to my HV who said "hang on, I'll ask" and I heard her say to a colleague "With him being premmie is it closer to nine months?", then she handed me over to said colleague who gave me a choice of dates and I just picked the one best for us, which is when Rhys is 8mths and 10days :)

I know there are quite a few things I've seen mentioned here that he won't be able to do (MFD mentioned pointing and I think SB mentioned being able to say mama/dada), but hey ho. He's getting visits (with no concerns) from loads of depts already so I can't see him needing any more help than we've already got access too, but we'll go along and nod and smile where necessary :)

Plus I wanna try out the sensory room at that particular childrens centre ;)

I think they are both doing great...she can sit and clap her hands, but no pointing and def no mama or dada....think i say mama to her so often, she thinks its a game and laughs at me everytime i say it!!

  • Ladybird... If she's not eating much by way of food and having mostly milk... Are you getting a pre-weaned nappy rather than a dodgy tummy nappy?

That might not be helping, but it is very watery (with great big lumps of the food she is eating in it!), which doesn't seem right. (and lots of them!) Will speak to HV on Thursday while I'm there anyway.

Yeah, Rhys just laughs at me when I say Mummy.. it's great, my child thinks I'm a joke! :rotfl::rotfl:

When I clap in front of Rhys he just tries to catch my hands or sticks his nose out so I can pat it!
