I don't think it matters what's hard & what's soft before you steam it, so long as it's soft afterwards! With regards to pears, some are hard to eat, some are soft - same as apples differ by variety. A parsnip is always hard, like a carrot is.

I nuked mine with a couple of tablespoons of water, but drained most of the water off before blitzing them (liquidiser). They do seem to defrost to runnier than they were before freezing.

Are you doing any baby rice? I've noticed that it gets runnier the longer it sits in the pot, so I've started making mine really thick now and then leaving it to get runny whilst I'm feeding Andrew his bottle.

eta. Andrew adored his carrot & rice mix today :)

Thanks Tigs - only did baby rice the first day. has been fruity porridge since that. gave him his 4pm bottle he drained 7ozs and was screaming for more so I made a tiny bit of porridge and he had that instead.

am keeping the baby rice to thicken up the fruit purees when he goes onto thicker stuff.

Think I'll make a start on the puree stuff Thursday as going out tomorrow to see my RL friends again - we will probably sit and b!tch about the snotty Boobie ladies. The more I think about it, the more I wish I'd said something at the time
dont forget to put abit of cheese on the beans on toast :rotfl: x

    And don't forget the ham!

So it's beans on cheese on ham on toast with a splash of Worcestershire Sauce and loads of black pepper - nomnomnomnomnomnom

I love CDWM - did you see the kitchen on the one tonight?!! The whole house was fab.

Right, Jack is down but am sure he will wake up again so I'm going to try and nap in between now and his dream feed - been up since 5am and still got a bad head.

Will try and catch up tomorrow - please don't talk too much xxxx

Also here is a pic of the bookcase. Not a very good one as taken on my phone but it only cost about £30 to make and was so easy ( well OH made it, i just painted it and put letters on) Since we put in it her room, Rose is always trying to grab books for us to read now, where as before they were out of her reach.

Thank you susan....she is such an angel. I am a very proud mummy x

I do hope you are all well - how big has rhys got? How is it back at work for some? and at home for others (esp 3)?
If you have a moment and are bored you could have a wee peek at my work in progress - my website. www.pattacake.co.uk we are updating all the time and all comments and suggestions are welcomed - just PM me.

    Happy New year!

Lovely site R.mac - but as you make more cakes, add more pics. I love what weezl did to your snowman too.

I'm enjoying my time at home - but we've not really had a chance to settle into a new sahm routine yet. DS & DD1's schools were both closed last week due to the snow so all three were at home, DS's school was still closed yesterday, and DD1 is off ill today (viral infection:confused:). Hopefully tomorrow it will be my first normal day with two big ones in school and just me & V at home.
He gets a good BF in the morning, about an hour before his breakfast. Breakfast. A bottle in the morning before his nap. Lunch. A bottle in the afternoon before his nap. Dinner and then a bedtime bottle and BF if he wants it.

Maybe that is why he has such a pot-belly!!

What are the other March babies having?

We're a Feb baby but can we answer too? :o

It sounds very similar to you MFD. Bottle first thing, breakfast. Bottle at 10.30 ish before nap. Lunch. Bottle at 3pm is before school run. Dinner then bottle at bedtime.

All bottles are 7oz - not sure what that is in new money! :D

My friend who only sees V on a Monday commented yesterday that 'she's really filling out'. Is that a polite way of calling my baby a fatty. :rotfl:

    Back soon..........

I'm another cdwm fan, but I always seem to forget when it's on:confused:

Wow Angela, Rose is so beautiful:A

    This might sound odd, but...
How weird is it to be looking at a baby sleeping like a little angel, while feeling another going crazy in your tummy:undecided Very bizarre sensation.

Could someone point me in the direction of rmac cake website please:) Did I also spot that mm gets to work at her local branch after her training session:beer:

I think having a Nanny is a good thing, the downstairs is spotless for her arrival at 2pm tomorrow. She phoned today to confirm, which was good. I'm nervous but excited. It'll do LO good to have another person to love, I've got to remind myself of what is good for him.

Was AF seeing the HV today? I got muddled up.

Hope everyone is alright this evening. Yay for Dysons (I'll never buy anything else now). Boo for tiredness and ebay, especially big boo for them together. Hugs for poorly families and broken glasses. Yay (again, cos its great news) for jobs. 'Mmmmm's for cake pictures. Awwwws at photographs. Welcome back to Angela, and to Sami (don't think I said it before). Any news DKAM?

Elle - are you still feeling 'odd'?

MOTM - any news on Lucy?

How about something second childhood like? Meccano or something he can build with the boys?

Debenhams had a build-your-own internal combustion engine that Husband gave my dad for Christmas and was a big hit :)

    I like that idea!
We have the combustion engine for [STRIKE]hubby[/STRIKE] DSS to build.

Meccano these days is simply not what it was :( I think there may be some classic sets knocking about but the new fangled plastic stuff is just not cricket!!

...and the boys may need to be a little older to appreciate it...

    Tis a good idea though.

How about a pipe and slippers ;)
    Lol!! He'd kill me :rotfl:
Yay MM - what fab news!!

SS - that sounds like a great idea. Do you think FIL would like a massage Sami?

massage sound like a fab idea FIL is usually giving them coz he did sports massage at night school, Will ask MIL about hotel if it has a spa etc if not mecano could work :) thanks girlsxx
