Anyone know about the cold weather payments? Apparently we are eligable for 4, but how do you get them?Oh, no, maybe not. You have to be in receipt of JSA of IB. So no then.
We got one last year I think, and weren't in receipt of JSA or IB. I'm almost positive it came through as a separate payment into the account where Joes DLA goes into?Or was it the Disability element of the tax credits that made us qualify?
There's a huge thread on here about the payments - but its about a clear as mud!
ETA: Scrap that - i'm being blonde. I've just trawled through my bank statements for last winter, it looks like we didn't get a cold weather payment, it was that £60 bonus thingy I was thinking about.redmel1621 wrote: »Question, if someone (close to you) told you that you were crap at cooking/keeping the house clean/in bed/raising the kids, would you try to prove them wrong or would you think F..k you then and not do those things they said you were crap at. I'm very childish and stubborn, so would for the next week or two do absolutely nothing for the person who said that, just to make him realise what you actually do for him.
He'll soon notice when he's ran out of clean undies and is starving to death.

Just in the process of catching up but saw Harley comment about leaving a pushchair unattended, just to say pushchairs are not allowed inside our Doctors so I have a little bikelock which I keep in the basket at the bottom, it comes in very handy, might be an idea for you?MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740

Mel - I am crap at all of the above except cooking. My house is a tip cos OH has loadsa crap and won't get rid of anything plus we have BIL living here who is taking up a room which we used for storage.
OH does moan at me and say I am crap - to which I reply 'If you want it tidy, sell or get rid of your !!!!!! and I'll keep it tidy' BUT in the back of my mind I think to myself 'I'll have a tidy round tomorrow'
My plan from tomorrow is going to be making the most of Jack going back to bed after his first feed (as long as its not before 6.30am!) and doing a little bit of housework every day.
Weezl - Jack has been Possetting for the last 4 weeks or so. Sometimes it is just a bit of dribble with some chunky milk in it but others (like this morning) it is a lot more! It smells like proper sick even though most of the time it mostly saliva with the sick. Frequency can vary like Fergie's but I'm not worried yet as I'm hoping he'll grow out of it!
Weaning - well, he had fruity cereal and loved it! Was a freebie one from C&G and he wolfed it down. Only 1 spoon but am sure he would have had about 10! He slept til 7am and had 7ozs, then had another 7ozs at 9.30am along with the cereal. Am just waiting to see when he wants his next bottle :rolleyes:Honeys I'm Hoooooooommeeeee

Whenever I manage to make it out of the house I'll look into getting one. I generally carry her from car to doctors and car to boobie club but both do have pushchair parks so I'll probably need one at some point. She and the car seat are starting to get a bit too heavy to carry now.
Hoping to get her weighed tomorrow as clinic has been shut for a month but need to try to get through the snow first, keep fingers crossed it starts to defrost soon. Just long enough for me to get car, doctors, dentist, supermarket and town just once then it can come down again for another week.
Tia, had a visit from some lovely fairies this morning (I know, a Sunday:cool:) and Kezia and I are extremely grateful for such beautiful dresses. You are indeed fabulous. xxxx

Hey Glam, glad to see weaning started well. Hope it wasn't too messy, I have some lovely plastic sheets (free with some magazines last year) for when we start. Cringing at the thought of food on my white carpet. xxx
Welcome home Sami. Missed you, hope you had a good time in the end. xxxCross Stitch Challenge member 11 - May challenge well under way

Not messy at all YET! Only giving 1 spoonful - some ended up on his nose but he took the rest OK. When we get a bit more established plan is to feed him in his Bumbo on a sheet so he can be messy if he wants. Need to remember where I put the highchair!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Ok i need to get on so have given up catching up.
Weezl, Fergie and Ello are the same age, she sometimes brings a little milk up after a feed but only a bit of a spit up not being sick iyswim? She has 4 bottles a day atm but thinking of dropping one and upping the following one now. Thats probably not very helpful but I'm telling you anyway!
Mel I'd probably stop doing whatever it was and then get raging mad at it being left and end up having to sort it all out days later. You need to try and talk to him honey and explain that he can't talk to you like that, nobody would take criticism well if it was thrown at you like that. Can you talk to him?
Hi Sami, hope you had a good time, she's still gorgeous but not so dinky, (well she's still in 3-6m clothes) since I gave up BF and put her on cows milk (on medical advice) she's really growing. I put some Xmas photos on FB and I think she looks bigger on them. Gonna try Mels fab suggestions for eating cos she is eating the same as us but smooshed up and we only seem to get a few spoonfuls in before she's bored so will try more things she can eat herself.
Beenie just to say I BF for 8m this time and it was a learning experience the whole way, everytime i thought we'd cracked it something changed and we had to find a new way so persevere if you want to its probably just a phase, but if you've had enough and want to give up don't feel guilty, my eldest was FF and I regret the time I wasted feeling guilty, it didnt achieve anythingMFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740
