Morning ladies and Bruno and MOTM.
Well I battled through the ice and snow (NOT!) to drive the 37 miles to work to discover that half of the office, who all live within 5 miles, haven't made it in
It is much warmer than yesterday here with slight snowfall.
I had a contact lens check this morning (the only way to stop them shouting at me Em) and half of Specsavers hadn't turned in either!!
So, arrive at work 8.30am, Contact Lens App so MIA 9.05 - 9.45am, and I have a docs app at 2pm so will leave at around 1.15pm :T A full day at workplease listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Hi MFD
Your mentioning of contact lenses reminds me that i really must start wearning my glasses.
I was wondering what delightful weather conditions you had your way.
We have docs too, but it is this morning so i am dashing out of work for a bit, only to return :-(.
Day off tomorrow though, although we have HV visiting. Must write my list of questions.0 -
Hello gorgeous AF
It's not too bad here at all.
The benefit of living so far away from work is that if I have to go home for docs app then I can't come back in! Although having said that I do loads of work at home anyway!! The doc only had 2pm - what is a girl to do
I haven't seen a HV for months! What questions are you asking?please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

thats the best hes ever gone i think ive found the key to longer sleep going to bed at 8pm
..
how is everyone? x
I am absolutely positive that the key to proper sleep is putting baby to sleep in the early evening. If Benjamin goes down late he never sleeps properly. He needs to be in bed by 7.30pm, 8pm at the very latest. It was only when I started putting him down at a 'proper' time that he started sleeping properly.
Yay for big sleeps Jayden :T
I couldn't sleep at all last nightI lay awake tossing and turning until gone 2am and was up at 6.15am. I feel fine this morning though

I haven't seen a HV for months! What questions are you asking?
Well, it is a different HV to the ones that our normally at our weighing clinic as i went to a different surgery to have LO weighed as I wanted to see what her weight was before I went back to work as I wont be getting her weighed anymore.
I was asking her a question about wind (as LO tends seems to suffer a bit at night with bottom burps) and not wanting to menting food or sleep as didn't want a lecture, but she said the wind issue at this age is more about whwat is going in her mouth than using infacol etc to solve it.
So, food got mentioned, and i made the stupid mistake of saying about her having a feed during the night, so she jumped on that and also with her not sleeping though.
I managed to side step her once about coming around but she caught me the second time.
Although to be fair, I do need to sort her sleeping out and even restorted to looking into controlled crying, but thankfully that may not be necessary.
They use "the kind sleep plan" which was developed by a Dr in Surrey and she is going to go through it in loads of detail for me as the sheet you get given is very brief. I know some of the reason why LO doesn't sleep is my fault and for her benefit she really needs to be getting some good sleep behind her.
Of course, none of this can be started until she is better.

I am looking at having LO's bed time around 7.30pm - 8.00pm as it will give me a few hours with her after coming in from work.
Sorry, i missed Jayden's long sleep ... woo hoo
I was up all through the night too, listening to LO cry or chew her hands bless her. Fingers crossed we will get something sorted today and she'll be on the mend0 -

I think Sami (and possibly the boys) have hypermobility? She might know something when she gets back.
We've got quite a bit of snow here - and walked the school run. I did a comedy fall outside the co-op.Nothing hurt but my pride. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, and was too scared to turn around and see if anyone had seen me.
My DD has learned how to turn the tv on and off.
She also has a new smile - a really daft one with a crinkled up nose! I'm not sure where she got that from.:beer:0 -
AF - I am only getting between an hour and 90 mins with Benjamin in the evening, but that is 90 mins of proper quality time IYSWIM. It is lovely, Benjamin is very happy to see me/us, we make sure that we have nothing else to concentrate on until after Benjamin is in bed so we just have lots of fun!! Last night hubby and I were chasing Benjamin up and down the living room like nutters and Benjamin has started to chase us back!!
90 mins of time having fun and cuddles nearly makes up for not seeing him all daywe don't even think about eating etc until Benjamin is in bed.
Perhaps a different HV will be good for you and LO.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
Thanks Mel, and all
OH having a bit of mini-breakdown of depression and hopelessness. I don't want to have a proper rant because I agree that things are very hard for her
but not sure how much further I can go either without really exploding in resentment. Back to looking seriously at moving to California now.
Bruno (hi ) - you know that here is one place you could have a rant without being judged. Just so you know my two-penneth, I don't mind DH doing things for himself as long as I also get some time to myself. It's a bit of a sore point at the moment as I've been having a bit of a hard time and had booked a massage as a treat. He picked me up with both kids and within minutes was moaning and starting an argument, which completely wiped out any relaxation I had been feeling. It was at the end of November, so although it's forgiven, it is not forgotten - he knows and accepts this! In the main though, as long as I know in advance and can plan for it, him having some 'me' time isn't a major problem.
Big hugs to you and your OH.angelfairy wrote: »oh carla, has your little one got what mine has??? loads of coughing and then is sick??
Imogen had problems with being sick right up until 12 months. She didn't have to be ill, just have a little cough and then up everything would come. We could hear on the monitor that it was going that way (she often did it in bed) so would race upstairs to pick her up and let her be sick on us, rather than have to change the bed & wash the carpet. Nice!
Mel - I'm hypermobile, but not double-jointed. I may always have been, but it was only picked up after I'd had Imogen when I had some foot problems. I also have one leg shorter than the other by about 1.5cm (sound like a right weirdo don't I?!) which doesn't help. It hasn't held me back (although I'm not that sporty) but have always been the most flexible in my yoga/pilates class. I managed to do pilates until I was 35 weeks pregnant with Alex and it has def been good for me. Sorry, bit of a ramble. HTH?
Alex slept til gone 6.30am this morning :T and that might only have been cos DH was in the shower which is next to his room. He wasn't even screaming for milk, which is back to how it used to be. Phew!
Imogen's at nursery having trekked through the snow, but expecting a phonecall to pick her up at some point. Perhaps I should be on my wii fit instead of on here and watching daytime TV?MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
Morning all
We hardly have any snow! Looks as though it tried last night but the rain washed it away.
Mel, can't tell you anything about hypermobility but I would be interested in any responses. My nephew apparently has it (but we're never told much detail) and he is still not walking at 2.
