SM, the gagging is a natural thing, it's the way babies move food from the back of the mouth to the front, nothing to worry about :)... Does he feed himself with finger foods yet?
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

  • Yippee for Andrew! What a lovely Christmas present.

Sami- oven chips and fish sounds like a yummy tea. All you need is some mushy peas and you'd be laughing! Is you hubby finished for Christmas now?

I'm waiting for hubby and having [STRIKE]bottom of the fridge[/STRIKE] aubergine and butternut squash pasta for tea. Trying to decide what feast to make myself for Christmas Eve tea and it will just be me and Henry as hubby's working till midnight.

Don't know what we're having for tea... It'll be Asda surprise... Hubby goes to Asda and brings me back a surprise ;)

Ooh Tia, I did a lovely roast veg with sausages and couscous thing the other day... Didn't give Caitlyn sausages but she loved the roast veg!

I can't wait till hubby gets home either... It's so draining when they do nothing but cry all day :( how's Edgar now Sami?
ooh I like the sound of asda surprise :p I fancy maccy's surprise really but hey ho.
Ed is currently asleep, he's been alert while awake but slept most of the day, he's got a full tum at the mo so I'm stuck under him in the hope he'll have digested most of it before he wakes up
    Evening All :hello:

Anybody want to :j :j :j with me? Andrew was discharged by the outreach midwives today, he's reached the 3kg milepost!

    Hi Tia,

I think the fact that your daughter likes food to have small lumps means you've already missed out the complete puree stage - well done!

I was thinking of meal ideas for weaning a week ago, not because I think Nathaniel is ready by any stretch of the imagination, but because I wanted to be organised and not rely on jars like yourself - all I seem to get was abuse from people saying I shouldn't go against government guidelines and try and wean my baby before he is 6 months old. Wasn't actually what I was asking at all!

Thankfully it wasn't from any of the lovely peeps on here. Hope you have better luck and I'll watch with interest what foods people suggest to use.

    Bearx

Because the boys were weaned in the days of 4 months, I tend to ignore the advice anyway. She has surprised me waiting so long (20 weeks tomorrow), but as with everything, it's only advice, to be used at your, the parents, discretion.

I don't like jars because I tried some myself and think they are yuck, but thats not to sat I have never used them, because I have. I will be using mostly home made because it fits into my life style. Most of what I cook can be adapted for babies anyway. I just need to get a wee stash built up for when we are having something not suitable for babies.

    Fantastic news Tigs!

Maddy's still sleeping, didn't want her bottle.

DD1 has seen consultant today, baby has duodenal atresia, it's the reason DD is so big and will probably be delivered early. She'll be operated on straight away and be in hospital for a couple of weeks.
Too many children, too little time!!!

Almost - 6lb 11oz today! But that was before he did an explosive poo :rotfl:

Must say, I'm loving reading about forum babies starting to wean - I'm going to ask the paediatrician about this at the start of January, as Bliss guidelines are to wean preemies based on actual age rather than corrected, and Andrew will be almost 5 months by then. I have baby rice at the ready!

How funny he likes broccoli the best, Sami! Thanks for this.
    x
I think it was just because it's small, he sucked all the little ball bits of a florret, he's not fond of dry things like bread n chips because they stick to his tongue and it confuses him - bless
