GISI my docs call it a 6-8 week check and always do it at around 8 weeks, maybe its a hampshire thing? when i was in the appointment i asked why in the hospital they'd called it a 6 week check and then the docs did it at 8 weeks, and she said it was cos we're more likely to have resumed relations  by then than at 6 weeks, and therefore more likely to know if there were any problems Down There!Mummy to

Dr's surgery just called to book our 6 week check- not till 11th January when Henry will be nearly 8 weeks, but I gues it doesn't matter?!
nah they do the check up 6-8 weeks
you could see about getting his jabs the same day. thats what we did with Kian'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
We like the apple ones best too.
V is at the moment eating the head off a Greggs gingerbread snowman. She's sucked the chocolate hat of and seems to be enjoying it.
Oh Tara - how awful! I hope she gets over it nice and quickly.
Hugs for everyone elses poorly babies (and the healthy ones can have one too - its christmas!)
We've just been for a walk up to the local shops to get christmas cards and forgotten bits. The pavements are horrendous. Liv managed a few comedy falls on the way - but she was running and skidding up the road.(She's back to being nice Liv today
)
I was going to go to Hobbycraft this morning, but when I put the radio news on first thing, it was reporting skidded cars all over the place, and the M53 had incidents on both sides so was pretty much stuck. So, the hampers will have to be wrapped in silver christmas paper instead. I'll do photos in a little while.
Rmac - how posh are you with your pram with snow setting!:beer:0 -
GISI - our 6 week check was at 10.5 weeks. I don't think it matters that much.
Em/Elle - I was looking at snacky things on Tesco online earlier but was a bit put off as the biscotti things say 12 months plus and Caitlin's not 6 months until next week so thought I'd better not get any. But then, I give her crusts off my toast and she's fine with those. As long as I keep an eye on her, surely it'll be OK?

choppy they're just like rusks really, no reason why they cant be given to younger babies
i think they are for 9m+ though? they crumble easily and turn to mush when they get soggy, so no more real risk of LO's choking on them than on a rusk IMO
just a bit less messy!! easier for LO's to hold as well cos of the shape. when we give seth a rich tea, he snaps it in half, puts one half down on the tray and munches on the other half, then when he's finished with that eats the bit he put down on the tray :happyhear

Bad mummy - I didn't notice that!
V's had them since before 6 months - they kind of melt when sucked to death!:beer:0 -
Choppy, my Caitlyn loves them, she's just coming up to 7 months... I wouldn't go too much on what the packet says... They can have anything after 6 months apart from whole nuts...
Edited to add... She usually loves them... Not today... Today she doesn't love anything... No toys, no booby, no sleepy, no butty, no Aimee... Nothing...
Wish I could find the teething powders to rule out teeth... Might resort to calpol soon...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

elle aren't iced gema rather dangerous? I don't think I'd let Chris have them when a baby, has Rhys tried/is he allowed nutella? bet he'd love a bit of that on a biscotti
I was joking.. I'm not going to give him Iced Gems, they're just on the list of possibilities for "kidney babies". He can have the also suggested pink wafers instead! He could have Nutella, but I want to get those little packs, as neither OH or I like it as well, from where the mini jars of jam are in Morrisons and I haven't been there lately.

They say 6mths when mushed up with milk or 9mths as finger food I think, but I just helped Rhys hold it and he ate it dry.. well, gummed it to death and spread soggy crumbs all over his face!.. when we give seth a rich tea, he snaps it in half, puts one half down on the tray and munches on the other half, then when he's finished with that eats the bit he put down on the tray :happyhear
