MSE Parents Club Part 9

Fitz, we've got the Asda baby event highchair but haven't used it yet! We've built it up tho and it looks really easy to clean but is a little bulky when folded.
I think I'd actually prefer a highchair that didn't fold to one that folds untidy IYKWIM
Ikea one doesn't fold. I suppose it depends on how much room you have?0 -
My thinking is that a separate advice/support/mse one would be for any bargains spotted, or any specific questions - e.g. I am asking for highchair recommendations. I have asked before and no-one picked up on it. I don't mind and it's not urgent, but maybe there are other specific questions that people would like answered.
It doesn't meant that you wouldn't get general support on the chat one if you know what I mean. But yes, I agree, they will probably end up merging into each other to a certain extent as people will probably stick with one rather than the other.
I personally think it would improve things a bit and probably encourage other people to contribute who can't keep up with the general friendly conversations as they don't feel they are a member of the "club" type thing.
Sympathies Bruno. I can't imagine not jumping in the car if I had something like that to do! Hope you all feel better soon and can take turns at getting some rest.
This sounds sensible to me...and I suppose if one of the regulars wants advice it could always be put in bold something like....I have asked a question on the other thread...then anyone who has time could nip over to the other thread and give advice on there if they have any suggestions...that way questions might not get missed!! Also as fitz says many other mse users might be more inclined to ask for advice on specific items, parent related subjects if they didn't feeli like they were intruding into the CLUB....which is how I feel some people view this thread.Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

Fitz I have this highchair, I really like it....it is nice and comfy which is good because Kai takes ages to eat so can be in it for a good half hour to hour at a time. It does sort of fold away, but I just leave it up tbh and I like that the big tray has an extra clip on tray bit that can just be whizzed away with all the slobbery food on it:)Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

If so don't worry about it hon, I will just bite the bullet and buy that cheap Asda one...I do really like it:) TBH I feel maybe I should buy this baby something new as pretty much everything else I will be using is Kai's........
yeah it's the basket and a matress but her cat has clawed that (I still used it but understand that you would prob want to get a new one, not sure how much they are??), you do know the asda one doesn't include the stand0 -
Fitzio - We have a tripp trapp by stokke and both LO and us love it! Highly recommended from usredmel1621 wrote: »Fitz I have this highchair, I really like it....it is nice and comfy which is good because Kai takes ages to eat so can be in it for a good half hour to hour at a time. I have the same one as Mel, plus have/use a cheap beanstalk one from argos, a m&p tripp trapp-esq one and now the ikea one too.
I like the chicco polly but it is a lot of faff to get all of it clean, you can take the covers off and sort of hose them down, put straps in the washer and scrub the rest of the chair which in total takes about 30mins when you compare that to the ikea one that can just we wiped/hosed in less than 5mins.
as Mel says though the polly is much comfier with its padding, footrest etc
The other 2 are OK but nothing special.0 -
sorry I quoted this earlier but obv can't coun't to 3

Ah right, Yeah I will get one...thank you so much anyway:) I think I sort of need to buy something new for this baby anyway...I will feel guilty otherwise:o
Also thank you, I didn't even consider whether that Asda one came with the stand, I have seen another I like so may go for that instead:DUnless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

I didn't see the post so cannot comment, but getting the general jist...
What I would say, is that people come from all walks of life, have different boundaries, varying levels of interest in other people and a whole lot of different experiences.
MSE is the only messageboard I frequent and I have met some very helpful people, some very rude people, some people who I thought were a bit strange but turned into very nice people and some people I thought were okay, but actually they are very conniving and try to make people out to be something they are not, as I have found recently.
This thread inparticular moves fast and posts are missed, people like to have a chat/moan/rant/hey look at me moment.
The idea of 2 threads is good. Would the powers that be just say it's not needed and merge anyway?
Whatever happens, I don't want anyone leaving or feeling left out and neither would most posters, as has been shown by those posting.
As for 'The Club' - if you are a parent, you are in 'The Club'. I see lots of parents around the board that don't post here and I for one am always pleased when I see a new poster here and/or less frequent visitors popping in to say hi.0
