Edit - can I add, I am not a big fan of babies having super-sterile stuff though! I sterilise to make sure there is no nasty milk bugs growing. Once sterilised I am not bothered about a bit of air. Others disagree!!!

My mummy is having him while I go on bridesmaid dress and shoe trying on duty, so I like to leave a bottle just in case!

I've put the milk in the bottle and it's in the fridge now. Can't come to much harm in there, can it

I'm with MFD - I sterilise the bottles but after that I'm not too OTT about it. I'll sometimes give J a bottle and if he fusses, leave it 20mins and give it again - I generally leave the lid off so its not sterile but then as soon as its been in his mush its not sterile anymore!

I've just sterilised 6 bottles - I usually make all 6 up & put in the fridge BUT the Gavsicon needs to go in hot milk(Thanks MM) otherwise it doesn't mix well so I've made one for first thing and the rest have just been fully assembled and I'll make the bottles up as and when I need them. IMO they will be sterile like this for 24hours.

Although MFD - I'm still sterilising the dinner stuff although once it's sterile I don't go to great lengths to seal it up or anything. Sterilise in the morning and just leave in sterilise til I need it!

ETA - I don't use the tongs either and as long as my hands are clean I touch the teats. I don't go to any great lengths to scrub them with bleach first! I cant believe how fussy I was about these things 5 months ago!

Oh god, did I mention I had a baby less than 10 weeks ago and I have to try on my bridesmaid dress tomorrow :eek:. That'll make me feel good.

I'm feeling brave as I'm taking bubba to the Isle of Wight all on my own tomorrow :eek:. Luckily my Mummy and best friend will be there when I get there.

oops, I've always been feeding with the bottle the milk's stored in in the fridge! didn't know there was a difference

No idea what it is Beenie...he wouldn't sleep at all during the day (20 minutes max), is feeding like every hour and now will not go into his basket. We tried gripe water but he almost choked and now DH is being sissy about giving more...I'm really reaching the end of my tether as it's been almost non-stop since this morning. It's not that I'm tired and want to go to bed (well, I do but I've been way worse on tiredness scale), I just want him to settle!!

Aless- have you got a bouncy chair or anything you could try him in? Or pop him in the sling and walk round the house with him (or even better, get OH to)?

Should be fine in the fridge 'ready to go' I'm also with the not-clean-brigade;) In fact I haven't sterilised a bottle in months....and tongs what are they?

Given that one of Kai favourite things is eating peoples shoes...I can't see an unsterilised bottle doing him any harm:o:p Oh talking of the little booger, he has worked out how to get into cabinet where we keep dvd's/games/cd's etc...they are sliding doors and he has pulled all the blu-rays out 3 times today:mad:

Off to make bottles and load dishwasher before hitting the hay:D
