So do you think this might be easier :D;)

To get CWP you must be getting the following:

IS (Income support) and have a child under 5
IS (Income support) and CTC (child tax credits) with a disability premium/severe disability premium
IS (Income support) and Incapacity benefit with a disability premium/enchanced disability premium or severe disability premium.

    PC (Pension Credit)

IB JSA (Income based Jobseekers allowance) and have a child under 5.
IB JSA (Income based Jobseekers allowance) and CTC (child tax credits) with a disability premium/severe disability premium.
IB JSA (Income based Jobseekers allowance) and a disability premium/enchanced disability premium or severe disability premium.

IR ESA (Income-related Employment and Support Allowance) with a support or work related activity component in the main phase and have a child under 5.
IR ESA (Income-related Employment and Support Allowance) with a support or work related activity component in the main phase and CTC (child tax credits) with a disability premium/severe disability premium.
IR ESA (Income-related Employment and Support Allowance) with a support or work related activity component in the main phase and a disability premium/enchanced disability premium or severe disability premium.

At the moment the only group of benefit claimants who are having problems getting an automatic payment of CWP are
IS (Income support) and CTC (child tax credits) with a disability premium/severe disability premium.

Well the plot thickens as the social fund said they no longer have anything to do with it....mind you, I have had so many excuses this week, it wouldn't surprise me if this was another passing of the buck excuse.

I wouldnt surprise me if the some of the Staff answering the phone - have got so fed up of the same questions being asked - that they are just saying anything/making things up - to amuse themselves!!
    Oh what's the bloody point...?
  • As I understood it when I phoned (several places, several times, like most...) the payments come from the Social Fund money pot, but are being administered by the IS staff. Seems like the payments are taking a while to come through - the trigger I have dates for (17-23 December) should apparently be in my account in the next 2 weeks - which by my reckoning is about a month. Maybe those with a key meter would qualify for a loan from the Social Fund to cover the heating bills until the payment from the Social Fund finally arrives? High time these key meters were outlawed... a new crusade for Martin perhaps?
  • It's cold and we now have a house full of poorlies :(

We picked up a giro cheque yesterday (my local JC decided not to action our automatic new year payment which was due 30th dec, when told they had to action an urgent one they decided to do a standard payment. Rent due Friday, payment to clear monday. Idiots! Very helpful man on phone sorted us a giro so we risked our necks to travel to next town to collect it. All because of some jobsworth who really didn't give an eff. Rant over......back to the thread in question....) and I asked the lady about when we got our CWPs paid in. She said its automatic once the MET office tell them. I tried to get a more exact answer but all she kept saying was 'It's automatic'

With that.......the black blind came firmly down on the window!

I'm concerned now that we won't get ours and I desperately want to turn the heating up when it's on.
Is it the people who get CTC for under fives who aren't getting the payments?
Watch out people. You don't know what lurks around the corner for you![/SIZE]

Not sure if those with children under 5 and on CTC are also having problems, the common theme on here seems to be those who have the severe disability element for a child on their CTC instead of the old system of it being included on their income support.

I know I am one of those....get IS and carers and the severe disability element on CTC, 3 triggers and no payments yet.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Kinda...you need DLA to get the disability premium for other benefits which then may entitle you to a CWP. But DLA on it's own wont get you a CWP.

That's what I though but the answer to a viewers question was "Yes DLA does qualify for a CWP".

Another point that was not made during this interview was that CWP are made automatically, the inference made was that you had to apply for them.
