CF44 Sennybridge weather station has had a fourth trigger set this morning, I have received three payments so far, two were paid together yesterday so looks like a fourth is on its way to the banks.

Thought I would post this to let anyone know under the Sennybridge station in case anyone has not received anything yet

Were did you see that you had a payment triggered this morning? I can only see upto the 5th?

    Thanks

I agree - its not on. If our weather station was in St.Helens or even Knowsley i'm pretty sure we would have had a minimum 2 or 3 trigger payments as well, it might not seem a vast distance between those places and the coast at Crosby but in terms of temperature difference it certainly can be.

I'm in St. Helens and can confirm that the weather has been bitterly cold since before Christmas. I haven't measured the temperatures daily, but everywhere is thick ice and I'm fairly sure that if we didn't come under Crosby, we would have had at least two, possibly three CWP.

I have a child who is disabled and although I can wrap him up, breathing cold air affects his lungs, so I need the heating on constantly. Even in 'normal' winters, I have to put the heating on for spells overnight because of my son's breathing, so you can imagine what it is like at the moment! I'm trying not to worry about the bills, as there is nothing I can do about them at the moment - my son's health must come first. I'll end up with an increased monthly DD, but I'll cope with that when it happens.

It doesn't help that all the schools have been closed - although I believe that one school is re-opening today (not my son's). If he were at school during the day, I wouldn't have the heating on as much and would save a bit of money, but the roads are treacherous and school transport has been cancelled as well. Better to keep him safe, though.
  • i just phoned the i.s line and they said that our area hasnt been triggered yet even though i saw with my own eyes last night it had - he said if it does get a trigger which everywhere should over the next week it will be a case of waiting until we receive a letter then upto 2 weeks after the money should go in

could anyone please confirm how long this normally takes from actually being triggered please?

They are still reeling from the bad PR and getting a slap for ripping off us prepayment meter users I think. I got some spurious cheques a while back, and when I went to cash them at the PO the clerk said "the computer screen is instructing me to tell you that British Gas thank you for being such a good customer" LOL !!
i dont have a prepayment meter, the bank took it no problem lol.

    My update.......

they did ring back like they said they would this morning......
and said they did not understand what happened but they have put this right and confirmed there are 4 triggered so far, the first one should be in the account by Monday or even earlier, they also apologised for the delay in us receiving this as this is the first one out of the first 4 to be paid in and others to follow.;)

Got there in the end, now just to keep an eye on the account.

    Good luck to you all.

Just called my local office and.....

Income based JSA + Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit

does *not* qualify for CWP.

Not really fair, as I don't see how they can discriminate one disability benefit from another. If you're disabled...you are disabled!

As I now can't afford to turn the heating on......the living room is at a cool 6.1°C
    100% debt free

Contents - bought and paid for
