Sorry if this has been asked already, but I can't face 44 pages of comments! My family qualify for the payments (Jobseekers plus a 2yr old) and according to the postcode checker there have been 2 triggers. When I eventually spoke to someone today to ask about it, they said there'd only been 1 trigger. Is there somewhere I can find out the actual dates of the triggers? Many thanks in advance.0

whilst we are at it, spare a thought for the homeless who are out in these temps at night, yes i know some through theyre own fault but not all of them, at least we have four walls to live in.
Doesn't bear thinking about !!! I'm in Cheshire - as you've probably heard in the media, went down to -18C. NHS are recommending keeping room temperatures at 18-21C.. what a luxury that would be! It was 11C in my bedroom last night. Of course this is NOTHING compared to what happened in 1963. Can you imagine this continuing without a break through to March? The sea froze over! There are probably better clips than this.. but just to give you an idea http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cl4pJwcE7JI0 -
no only a 3 but very badly heatin installed with new double glazin that has got holes in walls my hub has had to go out an buy foam filler as they did not do prop but there is only so much we can do we are not expert window or heating fitters !!!!!!
and yes been on to housing they are not bothered an just keep patching things up when they turn up that is :mad:
Aah.. OK. That really sucks.
I presume you've checked any government entitlement you have to insulation etc?
My heating is insufficient in these temperatures, so I rely on an oil filled radiator to top it up. If you're central heating is really iffy, might be an idea to get one or two (they are about £50?) and wheel them around to where they're needed. Sounds naff - but can make sense economically.0 -

Thank you ... am now trying to work out if there is a word for 'love of windmills and other quirky buildings'! There is one in Nottingham that is now a fab science museum, hopefully they'll do something constructive with the Crosby one too.
No worries, apparently it's a private home now, it's good it's preserved, at least somewhat but it would be great if it was a working windmill. I remember feeling surprised and delighted when I saw the windmill as a child, it was fab but I've never been in it. It felt magical at the time to see it.:A :

Just seen this today. Am on IS with a child under 5 so I guess I qualify (the link for my post code says 1 payment).
Will this just come into my Post Office account with my normal benefits ?0 -
