YOU SHOULD CHECK DIRECT GOV postcode checker as your postcode not comin up with anything on there i suppose we will all have to just freeze an maybe get 25 pound one day by surprise :confused::confused::confused::confused:we should start a petition on downing st for cold weather payments to be done on actual cities an not weather stations :T:T:T

Maybe before starting your petition you should think about how such a scheme would be administered?
    Gone ... or have I?

Yes, I spoke to Income support.

I know my postcode has had 2 triggers. 23rd Dec and 5th Jan.
My next door neighbour has had their letter and payment.

IS said some payments will have to be done clerically.
I will have to assume mine will be like that, as the Income support is in my name, but the DLA, which is my qualifying route, is in the names of my children.

Really it should not be this complicated.

income support is the quallifying route dla is nothing to do with cwps

no dla is not a quallifying benefit
  • Well i think something iffy is going on with the postcode checker, before it said 1 payment then when i checked again it says none,i even got my eldest daughter to read it to make sure i was seeing right,i am really annoyed now........Crosby is certainly taking there temps from inside in the warm.

You need income support AND a qualifying benefit.

    From DWP site

You may be eligible for a Cold Weather Payment for each week of very cold weather in your area if you get Pension Credit or income-related Employment and Support Allowance with a support or work related activity component in the main phase. You may also be eligible for a Cold Weather Payment for each qualifying week if you are getting Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance or income-related Employment and Support Allowance in the assessment phase and have one of the following:
    • a pensioner premium, higher pensioner premium or enhanced pensioner premium
    • a disability premium, enhanced disability premium or severe disability premium
    • a disabled child premium
    • Child Tax Credit that includes a disability or severe disability element
    • a child who is under five in the family
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
