You would qualify if I am reading the CWP criteria correctly. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Everyone who is over 60 gets winter fuel payments dont they alongside the cold weather payments if they get extra benefits.
if you have state pension only you DO NOT get the payment. Could strangle the post office last year who told everyone and the upteen calls we got from people stating that they did not get the payment and the post office telling them to call us.
The payment comes from social fund section of the JC but paid through the relevant qualifing benefit.0 -

thanksLong term sick pay would that be Incapacity benefit/ESA?
Certainly the way I read the criteria for a CWP is this.
If you get a disability premium with- Income Support
- income-based Jobseeker's Allowance
- income-related Employment and Support Allowance, or
- Pension Credit.
You will also get CWP if you have a disabled child.
You will also get CWP if you have a child under 5 and claim IS*SIGH*0 -

thanks
Neither component of DLA (care or mobility) at any level nor incapacity benefit are qualifying benefits for any cold weather payments or heating allowance etc.
Generally contribution based benefits like incapacity benefit do not lead to eligibility for further benefits.0 -

Well, are there any slag heaps near you then? Perhaps you could go scrounging for coal if you can't afford it?0 -
I'm on DLA and last year got £25.00. From what I can mind my support worker said. This is £25.00 for every week the temp is at the level required to justify it.
My local Met station the DWP use is about 35 miles plus from me. I live 4 miles roughly from one. However was informed they don't use it as near the sea.0 -
People on Income Support or income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
You will be entitled to a cold weather payment if you get Income Support or income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance for at least one day during the period of cold weather and:- you have a child under five in your family, or
- you have a child for whom you get Child Tax Credit with an extra amount for their disability, or
- you get an extra amount for disability or for being over 60 and you don't live in a care home.
You are entitled to a cold weather payment if you get Pension Credit and don't live in a care home.
People on income-related Employment and Support Allowance
You are entitled to a cold weather payment if you get income-related Employment and Support Allowance and:- you have a child under five in your family, or
- you have a child for whom you get Child Tax Credit with an extra amount for their disability, or
- you get an extra amount for disability or for being over 60 and you don't live in a care home, or
- you get a support component or work-related activity component and you don't live in a care home.
