What to do with kohl rabi?

Another new veggie in the box this week! I'm guessing that it's going to be cooked similar to swede - is this right?!! I'm hoping one of you lovely OS'ers can come up with a good recipe, we tried out the beetroot chocolate muffins and they were yummy, thanks so much. :p

Oooh, I love kohl rabi. Grew my own a few years back. I just peeled it thinly, then sliced in a salad. Bit like radish in taste.

In the past I've made gratin with it - pour cheese sauce over cooked kohl rabi and heat through in the oven. I can't think of a proper recipe but basically it's the same as cauliflower cheese.

Ok I've grown kholrabi for the first time because the seeds were cheap in Lidl. Now the first one is tennis-ball sized, how do I cook it? can you use the leaves like greens? (I've fed some to the guinea pigs)

    Nodwah,

I have grown kohlrabi for the first time to and shredded the flesh and used it in salad, really nice. I stir fried the greens in a little sesame oil, and drizzled over a little oyster sauce to serve...this is how my DDIL cooks pak choi and it is very simple and tasty.
