  • I like to peel it thinly, then slice raw into a salad or coleslaw.

It's also nice as part of a dish or roasted roots (with parsnip, potato, swede, carrot, garlic).

Alternatively, try this older thread - how to cook kohl rabbi?

I peel mine, cut it in chunks and roast it.

thanks all, I searched but didn't find any other threads, must 've spelled it wrong. I'll try these things as I've a few of them coming, but the guinea pigs are loving crunching on the stems and leaves and they don't mind caterpillar holes!

I had it whilst visiting friends in Germany about a year and a half ago. My host cut it into chunks and boiled it as you would a potato. After draining it, she briefly tossed it in the seasoned juices from the sausages we had with it (possibly with some butter).

I grew some this year and i will again.

My in laws are Greek-Cypriot. They peel and cut into chunks and eat with salt sprinkled on. They are lovely.....However the salt is very unhealthy so i do the same for us except we dip in salad cream and eat it, instead of salt.

My kids go wild for it and it's great for a healthy in between meals snack for them.

I'm sorry i can't tell you how to cook it as they never last that long in our house.
  • Salad cream is just as unhealthy as the salt. Plain is best.

Plain is the best but we use weight watchers salad cream, and only a small amount of it.

One turned up today in my vegbox and I haven't a clue what to do with it.

    Any ideas folks?
  • I eat it raw. More ideas here.
