I love kohlrabi. Raw, it is a cross between an apple and a swede or turnip and the leaves are like spring cabbage. It is very easy to grow.0

Lovely chopped into cubes and steamed. Wonderful stuff. Not that hard to grow for yourself either.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0

Kohlrabi gratin is nice.. sadly I cannot find the recipe but basically slice the bulb thinly and layer in a dish, pour over cream and top with grated cheese and cook for about 30 mins if I remember rightly until golden and bubbling.Let's get ready to bumble! :rotfl:0

it can also be grated of chopped and had raw in salads, I grew it in the garden this year out of curiosity as i'd never eaten it before. its so easy to grow and I will be growing alot more next year. I also put it in stews, soups or with mince, its such a versatile vegetable0

Thanks, Smeeinnit, I`ll try the gratin next. I`m just so hooked on the grated/drained and simmered in butter though.... but mustn`t overdo it or my folks will get bored.0

I've been so busy starting my allotment that I forgot how much I was looking forward to growing Kohlrabi. Thanks for the timely reminder, I've just ordered some seeds"Who’s that tripping over my bridge?" roared the Troll.

Thanks for this, I have some ready in the garden but wasn't sure what to do with it, I'll have some for dinner today and report back!0

clearly when I got it in my box I did not do it justice... will try growing it myself. Is it too late for this year?Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0
