Hi there
Its one of my faves since i came across it out here in Germany..
I like it either steamed... and the leaves n stalks steam like cabbage toono waste :T
But it is best raw, i grate it up, with cabbage, onions, cabbage and make it like coleslaw with a bit of mayo and greek yog, lemon juice n seasoning...
Im so in love with it im having a bash at growing some this year-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Hi, I love Kohlrabi as well. Its a cross between a Turnip and a Swede. I just love it either steamed or boiled and then have it with a bechamel sauce. Its really lovely. Gran used to cook it like that, she was also German. So MRSMCAWBER i am feeling abit homesick, as they don't have any in my local shop, i will just have to grow some this year.20p savers club

I used to have kohl rabi in Germany when I lived there, but can't remember if I had any recipes, haven't seen it here,"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

For those of you who've mentioned growing it, kohl rabi is really easy :T There's a purple variety available, too, in addition to the usual white one.

sharing a box every week with my Mum. Got three Kohl Rabi... anyone got any recommendations what to do with them? Never eaten one before. When we lived in Germany they used to grow millions of them but they were only fed to cattle.
any ideas would be very welcome. :rolleyes:0 -

I love kohl rabi, and you've reminded me that I didn't plant any this year
We have an older thread on kohl rabi uses, so I'll add your question to that.
