Kohlrabi's great stir-fried as a side dish, just julienne it and stirfry in a tbsp of sesame oil, then when it's almost cooked, add a splash of soy sauce, a pinch of red pepper flakes (or pinch of mild chili flakes) and a sprinkle of sesame seeds if you've got them. Stir a few times and serve. Yummy!

Oh picked up a few trays of reduced veggy seedlings for me as he had let a load of mine die off whilst I was in hospital having baby no 4 lol. One of them was 6 kohlrabi plants for 50p so will give it a go, all reports suggest it is yummy. I can only assume the big 4 don't stock it as 1) It doesn't travel well?- This seems to be the reason so much supermarket F&V is tastless and standardised
and 2)It isn't well known so they see it as a risk to stock.

I'm growing the purple variety. We're slicing it into salads :)

As this has fallen from the front page of OS, I'll add it to the existing thread, to keep recipe suggestions together.
