I am pleased you're happy with the £36. Unfortunately, it's nothing special, anybody can get that (I even managed £24 last year when negotiating my broadband renewal down to just over £7/month for the next 12 months).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

More than happy with that.
I didnt shout at them or make demands, I was firm and polite, sometimes it works wonders.0 -
Hi all,
I have BT B/band Option 3 at 25 quid a month and Unlimited UK Evening and Weekend plan.
I would dearly love to leave BT to go with 02 when my BT B/Band contract is up in May. 02 are so much cheaper. In March, 02 are bringing out their new line rental deal out and it might suit me to take out both with 02 and leave BT completely.
My problem is my Evening and Weekend plan only expires in October( I was ignorant of the fact that this was an auto renewal, unfortunately).
I read on this thread that because of the time changes from 6am-6pm to 7am to 7pm it is now possible to get the contract tie in voided.
Is this possible and if so what is the best way to go about sorting this out with BT?
Thanks for any input!0 -
I think post #263 says what to do.

Apart from the hours' change, increased daytime call rate, and increased call set-up fee is anything else being changed in April.
I've searched in several places but can find nothing to be sure that the changes are limited to what I know already.0 -
Hello all,
Coming up to the end of my 12 month contract on E/W + F/F.
1. Why does the reminder letter from BT not tell me I can switch to Unlimited Weekends non-auto-renewing?
2. Why does BT online's "View or change your Calling Plan" not give me Unlimited Weekends as an option to switch to?
I'm guessing (a) I'm not eligible -- but I don't understand why, or
(b) they don't want me to know about the UW option.0 -
does anyone know a phone number to call regarding this change from 6- 6 as i can't find one on their web page0
-
The one given on the original BT paperwork notifying the change was 0800 085 2233 but I suspect any of the BT 0800 customer services numbers would be OK.

Follow up to this one:
I phoned to change to contractless Unlimited Weekend. Straightforward as long as you know you can request it. But my conclusion from 1 and 2 above has to be: they didn't want me to know it was an option.
If there's still anyone left who thinks that BT has the best interests of its customers at heart, a rethink is overdue.
I got a chance to say why I didn't want to renew my 12-month E/W + F/F. So felt some satisfaction in giving the reasons, and next time they tell you "our surveys show that customers prefer to make calls after 7pm" you can counter it with "I wasn't surveyed, I haven't examined the survey questions to check if they are neutral and carried out objectively by a third party, and I understand you've had complaints about the time change, the overcomplicated billing system and BT's use of auto-renewing contracts."0 -
Talk are doing this from the 1st June i said pages back they would follow. I am on evening and weekends and make calls just after 6.Jan Wins: .0
