Well spotted (and predicted) Makeandsave!
Eventually found this on the TalkTalk web site after a bit of hunting . there is no mention of it on the main pages about phone services (so if you were looking for a new phone provider you would be under the impression that their evening calls are 6pm-6am and not be aware of upcoming changes):
"Our daytime/peak calling hours are changing from 6am - 6pm to 7am - 7pm. So if you're on an evening and weekend plan (not an 'anytime' one), your inclusive weekday evening calls (e.g. to 01, 02 and 03 numbers) will run from 7pm - 7am. The weekend calling hours (midnight Friday to midnight Sunday) remain unchanged.
The cost of an 01, 02, 03, 0870 and 0845 daytime/peak rate call (and calls that exceed 60 minutes at any time) is changing from 4.6p per minute to 5.8p per minute. The evening rate for these calls is changing from 1.4p per minute to 1.5p per minute. Please remember, this change doesn't affect any inclusive calls (e.g. to 01, 02, 03 numbers, of 60 minutes or less) that are included in your package.
Chargeable calls that currently incur a 9.25p call connection charge will instead incur one of 9.9p. Again, this change doesn't affect any inclusive calls (e.g. to 01, 02, 03 numbers, of 60 minutes or less) that are included in your package."0 -

Already posted by utilitybroker but worth putting here too.

I got my bill today - they have charged me a cancellation fee despite numerous reassurances that they wouldn't.
The BT billing must be "state of the ARK"0 -
Another reason, if you haven't to get something in writing, even if it is an email,0

When I told my mum about the change she thanked me as she always uses the phone between 6pm and 7pm and then settles down to watch the soaps etc. but when she phoned her friend to tell her, her friend didn`t believe her and said it is an April Fools Joke even though we all kno you play them on the morning of 1st April. Is there any chance that someone could put it on this board to say that it definitely is not April Fool`s joke and it is real. How many other people are going to think the same? Makes you wonder.0

I've just managed to swap from BT to sky for my mum even though she took the free BT connection 18 month contract offer last June. They asked why she wanted to cancel and so I confirmed it was the change of times from 6 to 7pm. The cheeky wench from BT who spoke to me initially, advised me to tell my mum to come in after work, freshen up, have something to eat and then make phone calls after 7! I told her my mums evening routine was none of her business. Anyway, eventually she 'gave me the benefit of the doubt' - what doubt?! and said that I could cancel without charges or penalties. I told her I was recording the call and she said that was fine (which I was on my mobile)
I've also now gone through the 'live chat' on BT's website and eventually got one of the guys there to confirm that BT had a note on the system that she would not be charged anything to leave her contract early. I've also printed that out too so now I'm just waiting for the final bill with all the cancellation charges on so I can go to town on them. In a weird kind of way, I'm almost looking forward to the battle:rotfl:0 -
This comes into effect on thursday - so let anyone who uses bt free calls know today or tomorrow!!0

Hi
Bit of a long shot but has anyone been able to cancel midway through due to this change, who have not received the letter indicating the changes?
I have tried to cancel but they are trying to fob me off saying that a letter had been sent to us, but they couldn't tell me when and that we should have checked the website to see any changes, which is nonsense.
Her supervisor says no, but I can still fight this? Any advice?0 -

I had the same problem. No letter received (I learnt about the changes by word-of-mouth, not from BT themselves) but they wouldn't believe me and wouldn't let me get out of the contract. Have given up now.
Sorry - doesn't help you much (other than to know you are not alone!).
Has anyone else got some advice?0 -

I think I'm going to persevere and still try to get out of it, I've got a few names so I may just become a nuisance until they give in
What annoys me is, I specifically stated email contact only and they tried calling grrr, something else to have a go at them about0
