Angela, esmer, elysia -sorry to sound so 'bluesy' but don't you just hate it when things seem so s**t ?
Not to worry.............spoke to son who's thrilled with his fam tree scrapbook, OH has prepared dinner, our lad is plugged into the dvd player we got him, loved his pint of socks and sock snowman (he's always short of socks!), cleared up the rubbish (hobbling as I go due to back being excrutiating today for some reason) and almost back to normal -whatever that is..............lol:rotfl:I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I do know what you mean Mary.
Things do have a habit of going wrong in life, it's one thing after the other this year in my house, it's hard when some things are completely out of our control. Something I never predicted happened this week and things look grim. I do feel annoyed with it all. That's why I think all this crafting and organising on here is really good for us all. xx0 -
I had a very happy christmas and keep waiting on something to go wrong. 2 yrs ago my life was turned upside down. My ex cheated on me, with his best friends wife. I tried to forgive him, but it was just a betrayal that I could not forgive. I said i was going to Tescos on the 28th of December to get DD calpol, and I never went back. It was a tough time, but i knew deep deep down it was the right thing to do. I was in womens aid refuge for 5 mth, I got a flat as I had lost my house my car and was made bankrupt, for a debt my ex never paid but was in my name. Im rambling. All I want to say, times are tough, but you do get through them and you look to the future and hope for some happiness.
There is always someone worse off than yourself. I hit my lowest point in my life, and I can now say 2yrs on, I have a nice flat (council) lovely neighbours, no debt, I own my own car, it may be old but its mine, and its been a GREAT car! My dd is amazing, and I look back on my year and im thankful, we had a great year.
I have met a lot of lovely ladies on here, and hope to spend the year ahead and make my next year even better
Thanks everyone. I do hope you all had a good day xxSaving 2.00 coinsGrocerys set to 40.00 pwBeing Thrifty0 -
Oh Esmer - I sometimes think how bad life has treated me, and then I look at my girls. You Have done so well, be proud, and on the 28th, have a drink and raise a toast to the lovely woman you have become. However bad you think times are, there's always someone worse off than yourself.
Mary you have to treat each day as it comes. Whats that saying? Somthing about the past has gone, but today is a gift - that's why they call it the present. Things can only look brighter then.;)
Perhaps your back is aching because you are all tense and stressed. Have a soak in the bath, and try and relax a little. OH will be fine in a few days/weeks, and your lad is doing OK, you need to take care of you for a bit.
Anglea - I hope what's going wrong, sorts itself out soon for you. How did you two christmases go?I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

I have been feeling all miserable today as my babies are with their dad having a great time. I then have to stop and think that I have a much better life than some people and I should be grateful for what I have got and am able to do. My dd asked me what poverty was the other day as we watched the nspcc advert and it made me respect what my family have.
To be able to go and buy something if I want it, to be able to eat as and when I want even if I am not hungry, just for the sake of it.
Sorry to ramble, Esmer, well done for making a better life for you and your child, thats the best thing you can give her. People always say to me the best thing you can give you child is love and happiness. Sometimes their is too much materialistic things in this world and some children and bringing up their kids that way. I try and make my kids respect what they have and be grateful (doesnt always happen mind you!)MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

Hello all :j
What a day !!
Went to see GP this morning with OH as his leg was so swollen.............GP says its deep vein thrombosis -something to do with him not being able to walk normally  So now he's got to have injections every day to thin his blood, GP is arranging appt for scan at hospital -further visit to GP in Jan.........then another in Jan to hospital ! Nurse came up and showed OH how do do the injections himself (he had one at surgery this morning and the nurse would call every day but OH said he'd do it)........got a number to ring if we have a problem.
OH's appt at hospital fracture clinic has been brought forward to 10th Jan (ooops........clashes with soc.services meeting...........tough..........they cancel at last minute enough times......OH is more important)
Foster daughter called round......very weepy about what happened with her dogs, her arms covered in bandages. Wants to cancel Christmas but her OH won't here of it. She feels (so do I at the minute) that there's so much pressure to have a 'jolly time' and sometimes 'life' gets in the way of it. Well if the queen can have two birthdays I'm sure we can have Christmas when we want...........This one will be a weekend that just has a few pressies thrown in and a tree.
Sorry if I sound a bit glum.............after the end of last year I thought this one would be different......not so it seems.
Never mind...........we'll do the best we can to grin our way through it and hope you all have a brilliant time:T
Oh heck, hope OH ok, good that he can do his own injections, and at least you have a back up, don't forget to ring them if you need them.
I totally agree its all drummed into us via TV, etc the perfect family, the perfect christmas, every new gadget under the tree...... but real life isn't like that.
def agree re 2 Christmas's we've split DD presents up, she's had ours today, and 2mor she can open the others, we've got the panto to break it up.
Hope foster daughter goes on ok, and u have a rest xxxxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
