Is anyone else feelin rather smug as to how organised they are???

So many people panicking now because of the weather, I'm glad we've finished all our shopping as we are virtually snowed in. We are watching the santa clause 2, all snug and eating homemade cheesecake.

Lesson learnt - I'll stock up on food earlier next year as we have been very low, I normally stock up mid december so we don't have to waste time shopping over christmas and new year, but could have done with stuff over the last week!

I must = buy some wellies when I see some, everywhere is sold out and even if the snow goes they are an investment for next year.

    I totally agree esmer.

Next year apart from my boots sale bargains I would like do be able to do all my shopping online and in one sitting as well, apart from the kids gifts maybe I probably could do it with a bit of forward planning and list making.

Yes, its nice knowing most of our Christmas shopping is done, just the food really and will be doing that on Friday when OH gets paid. Going out for the day too to shop for little bits and pieces we still want, but main food shop will be online. Will be having it delivered ASAP so shouldnt have to worry about the slots going. OH just sat to write out a list of what we still need to get, (not food), still a few bits for his side but mine is practically done except I want to get something nice for the three grandsons as they dont have a lot.

Braved the cold and went up in my craft room to do a bit more sewing this morning. Have now finished the blouse for youngest daughter. Need to iron it later and take a pic then I can wrap it up.

Not much sewing left to do now, just the buttonholes for the last shirt and then the buttons, will be doing that as soon as they come, I expect they have got held up with the bad weather.

    It's quiet on here today.

Esmer your photos look lovely. I can't believe the length of those icicles. Brrrr

Scattymam - feeling smug here too! I've done 95% of my shopping online this year. Haven't had to pay much for P+p either, as I usually hope to find a free del code or have it delivered to store. I couldn't do it all in one fell swoop though, I'd miss too many grabbits.

Rufus - well done on DD's shirt. The post is being held up. I posted an ebay parcel to someone not many miles away and it still hasn't got there a week later.

Diddly - you had some brilliant ideas for the (nappy) cake hamper thingy. I'll going to try and remember them for next year.

Toothfairy - Your sock monkey is wonderful. I hope mine turn out half as good. How are you feeling today?

DDraig - How are you today too? I know it's stressful trying to organise everyone and everything. If things are getting too much for you, speak to someone at baby clinic, they may be able to help.

Off the put the school fayre this evening - I don't want too, it's too cold, but DD insists. :)

Thankyou.Sorry I didnt mean that kind of unwell.Although seeing as I only stopped my Antidepressants when I found out I was pregnant with my lil boy.Im suprised I am not back on them yet.

I have what feels like a chesty cold.Im struggling to clear my chest at the moment. And the congestion is leaving me with a headache.Hence the kids stuck in gobbing making it worse.

Been doing surveys for last few days.So think its time to change and concentrate on wrapping the pressies this weekend.

Mother nature has returned after 12 weeks of waiting since having my son.So think its time to go get the implant.Sorry if thats tmi for anyone.

And its the anniversary of my dads death 10 yrs today. He was 42 so bit untimely.
Im ok but wish I could be with my brother and sisters. Two live 200 miles away and the other is trapped 5 mile up the road in this snow.

On a cheerier note. All our efforts are coming to fruition soon. Are ou ready to give a big sigh and enjoy my friends?

I am already putting any vouchers I earn towards Christmas 2011.Are we starting a new thread soon?People may start making and collecting and buying in any upcoming sales.Could give fresh ideas that would be better placed in a new thread.

    Hello all :j
DDraig - sorry to hear you've got a chesty cough.......horrible to get that .........I dread it -always seems to take an age to go.......thankfully so far this winter I've had nothing but the odd sniffle.

You all seem so organised...........thought I was but honestly the house is all upside down with stuff thats waiting to be wrapped and stuff wrapped waiting to be posted............food we haven't thought about yet............son was coming up with his girlfriend and grandson but looks like she'll have to work...........so, think it'll just be us and the lad we look after. Other years we've over bought and ended up with stuff that never gets eaten so we're trying to stick to what we know will get eaten and save any waste (both food and money).
Watched the Edwardian farm on tele the other night and it was their Christmas.........nothing very grand but the farmhouse was just decorated with greenery and a good beef hotpot type dinner, home made wine and to be honest it all looked really lovely.
Afraid our greenery is plastic (bargain from charity shop few years back) and artificial tree (hoping the lights work !!) and the fabric hearts and trees I've made for the dresser. Fairly basic, few plastic wreaths as well and some scented candles.

Covered two more shoe boxes today I'd forgotten about and finished off little 'memo' board -few pegs on it for messages and a little calendar.
Late night opening in town has been cancelled -just as well as the pavement is like an ice rink !!

Now someone kick my bum and tell be to wrap up all this ''stuff'' I've done and don't let me do anything else till I have............i'm c**p at organising myself.

Hope you're all ok and keeping warm and safe:)
