  • Cdsmiler - Big Waves back

Elysia - unfortunately it was due to bullying, with DS1 it has been going on for a long time and school had been involved but felt they had done all they could as far as the kids were concerened, But DS1 took it really to heart, he is very sensative and it was really affecting him. The final straw came with him over the half term and we pulled them both out of the old school, but have had to wait until now to get a new school with places for both of them. They have been so much happier since and really enjoyed yesterday and have already made friends so hopefully DS1 can get on and be happy again. Only thing is the school is neary 2 miles away and we dont drive  but its worth it to see him happy and smiling again.

The snow has come here this morning, we have about 2 inches :j its lovely, shame I have to go to work really.

Take care in the snow everyone

Where's the Coffee?? Show me the Coffee NOW!!
  • Glad to see you back Sarah. Sorry to hear about the bullying situation with your son and I'm really pleased he's happier in his new school. Hopefully he can put all that behind him now.

Mum2one - I'm so glad you are getting you epipen sooner! That had been on my mind a bit actually as (in my opinion) if you need an epipen you should always be given one straight away, as you could (but hopefully won't) have another severe allergic reaction the next day. Miss Hoodie will enjoy practising with the trainer epipen. It hasn't got a needle in but it took me a few goes before I could stab it into my thigh 'just in case'!

Last night I felt all Christmassy so I got lots done (I have to be in the mood or I can't motivate myself!). I made another little flavoured vodka for my brother-in-law, this time I made a toffee one using Werthers. It looks really tasty! Then I wrapped up quite a few presents and emptied the cupboard in the dining room so I can store them in there. I also started my Christmas card list, so I'm feeling quite pleased with myself :D

Best Christmassy news of all - I had an idea to get my niece a horse riding experience as she has previously mentioned something about it. I checked out prices and found a local riding school that does a 3 hour kids activity session for just over £20, much less than I was anticipating. I emailed her mum and asked if she thought it would be appropriate and she emailed back saying that my niece would LOVE it, so now I can book it! I can't wait to see her face, it's something she has wanted to do for ages :D

Restricted - we are all here if ever you need a chat, hope you get on ok with your Mum today, must be really hard to do what you are doing xx

Mum2one - glad you getting sorted out xx

We have the dreaded snow here this morning, dont think it will be as bad as the rest of you have had but youngest daughter's school is shut at least for first lesson, may be all day. The grandchildren have come again as their childminders bathroom has collapsed (??), not sure if their school is open or not yet as not on the list but its just over the road from me so not far to go if it is.

Think I will go up and get a bit of sewing done as OH ventured in to work this morning. Have to put the collars on the two shirts and then it will be the button holes and buttons. Can't do them on one as havent got the buttons yet which reminds me I should go and look on Ebay for some. Hopefully they might be here by the weekend. Rufus xx

Yey, back on the internet!!! Our electricity's been on and off for days and all appliances and the internet have been going haywire!

No school for my kids yesterday or today as they have no water, (frozen pipes :D), going to pop into town in a minute (if I can get the car out), need to get paint to finish decorating our living room, the house is like a bomb site  furniture everywhere!!!

Also need to get advent calendars as December has crept up quietly and bitten me very hard on the bum, how does this happen EVERY year???

Hope everyone's well, keeping warm and enjoying the snow. :snow_grin

Wow piglet all those Christmas cards! I made five and that's it. You're putting us all to shame. AND all your wrapping done. Woohoo :j

foxy - well done on passing your exam, you clever girl.

    Fed08 - hiya, welcome back.

Sarah - so sorry to hear about the bullying. I'm glad they're settling in ok, that'll be a weight off your mind.

restricted - big hugs to both you and your mum. How frustrating it must be for both of you. PM me if ever you need a chat. We have the opposite problem in our family, we are surrounded by girls. I've got two daughters, my sister has one, and my mum only had girls.

Nickybo - you'll never believe this! I was thinking about dd's birthday earlier and we were on the motorway but we saw a sign to some pony trekking stables. You can guess the rest. Great minds think alike.

Clare - was it you who wanted the Slanket? If you wanted one for christmas it's no good, but there's a lovely polka dot blanket with a pocket for your feet, (no arms though) coming in the Avon. Mum's buying it for me.

    Mum2one - I hope you get on a the doc's OK.

Mary - keep warm. My desk is at the cold end of the living room, so I may have to sit at the dining table in the kitchen too soon - right next to the radiator.

    Yeay, congratulations to your DD1!!!

esmer - I've just gone on your blog!! Yummy yummy cookies. (not in work today so I can see your blog!) Hope we'll see the advent calendar you've made too?

fedupandskint - glad I'm not the only one excited about the Radio Times! lol

Ddraig - hope you're feeling a bit less grinch like today!

Sugarspun - hope you're haven't all gone mad in that hotel room! lol Thinking of you!

junior - thanks for the info re: slanket! How's Mollie?

restricted - I think thunder and lightning with snow is mental!! BIG hugs to you and your mum.

foxy - congrats on your exam!!! And thanks for the slanket info too!

mum2one - another big well done to Miss Hoodie! Good luck with the epipen!

sarah - oh I'm glad both your DS are happier!!

rufus - can get on your blog today too! FAB shirts - you're very clever!

Well I'm not in work today firstly because of the snow - Tuesdays mornings are mad as I have to due a HUGE round trip to drop DD off at my parents and then up to work, and my parents road and the hill to get up there wasn't looking good. So my boss said not to bother - it's not worth the risk, and I can do some work at home anyway.

Secondly though (and really lucky that I didn't go to work!) I think I've got some sort of bug - coming out of both ends (sorry, TMI!) this morning!! DD seems to have it a bit too but she's coping so much better than me! lol

So I'm taking it easy tonight - NEED to make a bracelet for my friend's birthday, and write a load of christmas cards - all for this Friday! Nice snuggle on the sofa type activities.

Stay safe in the snow everyone!
