  • I was just logging on to complain about having the worst cold in the world when I saw your post mum2one...

Hope you're feeling better today and managed to get some kip last night. I'd avoid the cafe at Asda from now on if I were you. :D
  • OMG, BIG hugs to you mum2one!! Sounds like an allergic reaction to me!! You've never had anything like this before?? Thank goodness you went to the NHS straight away!

Wrote a list of what I had left to do and make (seperate from my lovely spreadsheet!) - scared me a bit! lol Most of it to be fair is quick stuff, but hey.... lol.

Just wrote a letter from Father Christmas to hubby's cousin's two little girls, including a 'Good Deeds' chart personalised for each of them! The younger isn't fantastic with eating, sitting at the table, gets up in the night etc, so I've included all of that in the chart. Will be interesting to see if they help! Would love to see their faces when they open it! lol

Hope you all have a good day!

    Hello all :j
Im early today as got gp appt. this afternoon for annual epilepsy check.........more like question asked, box ticked and I come home. Not much of a proper check but suits me.

mum2one -what a scary experience  Just you take it easy now. Youre always so busy..........time to put your feet up :)

Attempted two more brownie mixes this morning but hadn't got enough drinking chocolate :( Only £1 from cheapie shop in town so I'll pick some up when I''ve been to see GP.

Now hunting for labels to put on brownie mix.......want some that are brown coloured and rustic looking(ish).

Catch you all later............have a good day:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Oh my God! Mum2one hope you are feeling better this morning! Its such a worry when you dont know whats done it! I had an allergic reaction during labour and had to be rushed to theatre before DS or myself died! They are still not sure what done it but we are both not allowed Penicillin now!

Did some more wrapping last night and bought some smellies from M+S as 50% off and a 15% code! Got some bits for next years birthdays! This forum is rubbing off on me!

Junior hope your having fun on the bargain hunt! Im staying in till Friday! SKINT!!!

    Hello all!

Been pretty absent for a while, but I hjave been checking in and catching up on posts eveyr now and then, even though i've been quiet myself.

mum2one, take care of yourself and get well soon. Fingers crossed it never happens again. We need you fit and healthy, as does Miss Hoodie.

I've been beavering away behind the scenes, I have all but my special family cards written, and only 2 more pressies to buy. I've wrapped about 75% of the pressies and some have already been delivered (the perils of living away from family and wanting things to be delivered for Christmas Day). I've also made chutneys and relishes for hampers and am now on to cookie baking and truffle making.

I've grabbed myself an (almost) free weekend this week, so plan on getting the vast majority of bits and pieces finished then. I have 2 major dealines at work next week, so I really need to be concentrating on that (rather than what I could be at home doing from Christmassy point of view :)).

Sending love and hugs to everyone xx

BTW, today I have been mostly listening to Christmas with Nat King Cole and Dean Martin!

OMG Mum2one - I hope you find what it is soon. Do you remember that problem I have my my stomach? They said that was an allergy or something similar at first. What a nightmare - you're going to have to check labels and everything from now on. I thought it was horrible and I only have intollerances. Please be careful and stick to only things you know you've eaten before. You might have eaten Chicken Tikka before but you don't know what the recipe was, it obviously contained something your body doesn't like.

Glad your shopping trip went well Junior, and that you got all you presents sorted - just to wrap them now.

Mcjordi - does you Dad have any interests? Golf, fishing etc. OR howabout finding a new hobby. A book about researching your family tree etc - something other than the usual booze.

Well done everyone on getting sorted. I hope those who feel ill, get better soon. Sorry to be away again but the Avon delivery has come and it takes a week to get it done, so I won't be around much.

Take care everyone. Love to all xxx

    Hi all

Mum2One, you know that a week can't go by without something happening in your family and it's your turn this time. I wonder if all that going on with DD at school has made you stressed and so more likely to have a reaction to something. Sometimes the stuff they wipe the tables with can cause problems. BIG HUGS.

mcj - re your dad's present. I've seen numerous links for individual family members on the 2 stickies at the start of the Spec. Occs forum - the gifts and hampers and the A-Z one.

Mary thanks for asking your OH about the stuffing :)
  • OMG......MUM2ONE .....poor you. Hope you get well soon.....have they given you any steroids to take aswell?? Hope Miss Hoodie & family are ok too. I can understand what you have gone through as I had 2 anaphylactic shocks in 1 week!! Thing is with mine I knew what I was allergic to and I was already on antihistamines!!! 1st one was allergy to dog and grass .....airway closing and scary.....2nd one was allergy to hair dye (I didnt know I was allergic to this!!) and face swelled up etc!! I have to carry an Epipen and take daily antihistamines but I recently had blood tested for allergies and they found what I was mainly allergic to. Funny thing is that since I have started carrying the epipen I havent had any probs lol Make sure you make a mental note of the expiry date on the pen as they usually run out in a year and then you need to dispose via chemist/doctors and get a new one on prescription. I would suggest blood tests if they havent already done them to see what triggered it.
Take good care of yourself xxx

Today - Hospital appointment this morning for pre-op assessment for knee op .....went well. They said op should be done within the next 12 weeks.....however I requested not before Xmas!!! Then went to see Harry Potter.....bored me to tears....but DH & DD wanted to see it!!! Then got dragged around shops by DD conning DH out of money!!!! Nothing new there! DH treated me to a new handbag and a nice cardi......then finished off with dinner @ Nandos. Now chilling with a coffee made by DD before she skipped out the door in her new clothes/coat etc to see her BF!
Hope u r all well xxx
