Hi Everyone!
Pixie Fairydust - welcome! I am sure you will enjoy being here - there are loads of fab ideas and everyone is so friendly! I am fairly new (ish) and everyone is so lovely, I am on here everyday!!! :happyhear
Rufusdog - Glad you enjoyed the party - my nan is in a home (well, more like an elderly mental health unit - she has dementia) but they dont do anything like that. Shame really as I imagine it would be lovely for the residents..
Mrsow - Glad you are getting into the christmas spirit by watching films - I have been wanting to watch Love Actually for days now - perhaps I will later!!! I was in Tesco Home today and they had Mariah Careys All I want for Christmas playing and I LOVE that song!!! I had a 'discreet' sing along and dance - hmmm, hope the security guard wasnt watching on his cctv!!!! :rotfl::rotfl:
Elysia - Love the idea of a vodka snowglobe, I shall have to pinch that I'm afraid!!!!
Legendmum - wow!!! What a fab week! Well done!!!

Hello all :j
Taken me ages to catch up..............think I'll have to start logging on first thing in the morning........lol
Welcome to any newbies........sorry.....can't remember names now (senior moment !!)
Rufus..........my Mum did at least get the chance to hear and see some of my 'concoctions' before she left the planet and she was really pleased. I've gone through hardships myself bringing my kids up and the year my son got his first record player (2nd hand from a neighbour) his face was a picture....he wouldn't have been more thrilled if it had cost a packet. Both the boys know I love recycling stuff..........old habits die hard........and they love getting they're 'box of tricks' every year.
Today I've put a coat of varnish over the index card box I'd covered for recipe cards I've printed out for sons girlfriend and covered two notebooks with fabric.(free samples)...............oh dear.......doesn't seem much. Still, bit more done. Tomorrow I might take a trip to the sweet shop with my ever growing list..........choc bars for rudolph covers, marshmallows for DIY snowmen, tic tacs (or something similar) and choc lic.
Going to do a retro sweet box for the lad we look after...........judging by his face when I last went to the sweet shop he'll love it and I've got a little plastic tool box thing that'll do the job.:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I've just been to one of the boots events. DD dragged me there (or rather she wanted me to drive). OMG it was horrendous. Nightmare or what. People grabbing stuff like it was the first day of the January sales. I bought DD some hairstraighteners, crimpers and an electric toothbrush. Then as my spend was under £50 I treated myself to an organiser for next years Christmas organising and a pen set in the lovely Gorguss range, and got OH a slab of fudge free. I got a few more bits and peices. Total spend £62 - used £36 of gift vouchers I had saved, and a £5 off voucher. Paid £26 and got £12 worth of points. Bargain
ETA; knit happens; I love those first aid kit boxes. They didn't have them in mine today because I'd have got some too.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Sorry, shouldn't laugh..... I had my midwife giving me the protection for the future chat when dd was a week old...... would say chance be a fine thing!! and that you could tell she hadn't got children!!xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
I think I'm mad....... its pj party 2ngt, so I am wearing mine.... the general fashion of the night is the adult babygrow - saw them in Primark earlier, must of looked a right idiot laughing in the middle of the store.
good weather today popped in Torquay, anyone needing anything for Halloween Poundland are doing 4 for £3, and they have some beautiful toddler dresses.......
Wrapped last of xmas prezzies for down here, realised left my friends on the bed at home, thought I'd get him the mini whisky and toiletty based for her, dad could have the 3rd item - another set of whiskys, its a medium sized store - couldn't find the whisky, asked an assistant ans they said they've cut the number of stores that sell alcohol, just the big ones - but can be ordered online. (if anyone does order online check your items asap - as they don't list if theres more than 1 box worth - if you have left the store - you have signed for the order - its ur word against theres!!).
So he had a mens toilettry set £6, she's got Dove set £6, then the 3rd got Dove set £6, ready to go with mums xmas prezzie.
