  • hello,
Firstly i am going to apologise if this is in the wrong place, have been using the site to look for ideas but this is the first time i have joined and actually posted!!!!

I am trying to make pots of gold to give as gifts from my two little ones, have brought all the sweeties(99p shop was fantastic for multibags!!!), and some gold bowls (ebay!!!), and coloured shredded tinsel, and cellophane, now i am stuck as how to wrap them up in the cellophane!!!

Mine are ending up as a disaster - can anyone point me in the right direction or tell me how you make them look nice???

Thanks for taking the time to read this x:j

I can't find the rhyme I used last year :(

Here is a lovely quote you could change the wording ie where it says daughter you could type son. You can do it in Word in any size, colour and font, and print it to size. This is just for the idea:

Daughter - You're the end of my Rainbow, my pot of gold! I found this on an American site. It's what I'm doing on mine instead of a poem this year.

KMWestfield. I presume the cello you have is a square shape and you are trying to wrap a circular pot. You can either trim it into a big circle before you wrap, and this will give neater finish, or you can trim of the excess once the pot is wrapped.

Instead of screwing it up around the pot, try taking little sections and pleating it. Hold it in place with a small elastic band before you tie on the ribbon. Then you just sort of fan the excess cello out at the top.

oops that is really big SORRY!!! I knew something like that would happen, lol.

I agree with ds snowman soups really do look like ice cream cones, these are huge ones i am giving to couples/small families. Deceided i'm going to get sachets for single serving ones, as one serving looks silly in cone (just my opinion)!

DD has just solved most of my problems by asking if she can have money for her main gift (so she can spend in the sales), so i only need to get a few unexpected gifts and bits for her stocking now.
