Hat boxes out of stock here :(

Anyone got any inventive ideas for my wrapping next year? I am RUBBISH at wrapping, I want everything to be in boxes next year, but some things don't come in boxes naturally so any ideas what to do? dont want to buy gift boxes in shops as they are so expensive. I know someone who saves cereal boxes but seems a bit naff to me? Any ideas?

What about shoe boxes, take the flap off, or baskets wicker style, argos usually have some in clearance, Wilkinsons, or Dunelm.

Or my cheats method, use the cello wrap, wrap the items up and put some curling ribbon on it, (esp if you can get a xmas design or pattern) as it hides the actual present.

Love the cereal box idea, great for small / lightweight items xx

    Right, I'm off.

I've just written a review and it's only took me two hours! I just couldn't seem to get it right! This reviewing lark is a lot harder than it looks.

Update: up to £8.00 on Dooyou challenge. Ebay two little things have sold for £3.00 but I only paid 25p each so - wey hey!!! Out of the other 5 things that finish tomorrow - 4 have bids but they are up to £28.00. Challenge nearly complete!!!

apologies, didn't read to end of thread, in the end a really good break, New Years Day we went down to the beach at Dawlish Warren, sounds daft but it was as busy as it was in the summer. It was the slot machines and then a hot choc to warm up, Went to Tavistock, from their market got some flower pot photo holders 3 for £1, (great off dd) got some brilliant bargains from Superdrug, Pink MP3 shower boom boxes, reduced to 10p each (got last 4), brilliant cocktail set, pink stilettoes and boots, - bottle stopper, corkscrew, shot glass measure and a bottle opener - 49p.

Got some wrapping paper, bags, cards all half price from Card warehouse.

Great to get away from it all, and chill, dd loved it, and Bailey (the pup) so funny, on the 1st night he decided he was sharing the bed with dad, pulled the quilt off mother and tugged her nightdress, apparently she moved to the settee, he didn't like that, so for the 4 ngts we had a lodger on the settee....

Don't know who was worse, got my mother talking and grunting in her sleep, dd snores for England and fidgets, we had a kingsize bed, and I was hanging on to the edge.

Must say the journey back was a relief, this time lasy yr it took 10 hours, including 2 stops home in 5 hrs...

Pleasure of Comet tomorrow, printed off martins crib sheet, explaining consumer rights, gd as it backs up what I've said that my contract with store not manufacturer, and also picked up some info on Section 75 (pd on credit card).

Back to the grindstone tomorrow and study.....no peace for the wicked. xx

Can't believe we were away and saw Shrewsbury on ITV news, the massive gas explosion, it took out a building, done a lot of damage, and even tonight a lot of the streets are closed off.

So was going to have a peep in sales in town, but avoid it, good excuse to make me study.

will catch up 2mor sending out the spreadsheets, on other computer. xx

During my ramblings for Dec challenge - one of the suggestions was a 1p and 2p sealed challenge.

I was thinking if we save tham from 1st Jan and open them New Years Eve - great way to finish the thread off. (thinking that it may go towards jan sales - even if it buys a packet of cards).

Aww Miss Hoodie! I forgot about that! Bless her!

I'm in captain. Need to count my sealed jar from last year too. Think there is about £30 in it. Will go towards my first "treat". Decided to set myself hard goals and if I manage them then I get the treat. If not, no treat until a whole new lot of goals are fulfilled. Its spurring me on as i dont want to start at the start again!+

    Morning Everyone

Had a mooch round the shops yesterday, didn't get any sales bargins, holding out for another week when the prices come down again, did manage to get some lovely vases though at £1 reduced from £6.99 for the new frontroom, OH has done a great job and its looking nice now all the christmas dec's are down and painting has been done. Just got to go and have a trip to Argos Today to order a display unit for OH Modles, so a trudge through the snow again. Arrrrgggggg

Kids are back to school today, so when I get back it will be getting on top of paper work and doing some more review

Take care everyone, especially if your going out in the snow.
