I have one of those water bottles you know the sort you get in offices that they recycle and refill.... my FIL got me one from his business site, and it's fab, i've thrown all the coppers I used to save when I was younger in there.... over the past few months i've been throwing anything in there though I've got £2 coins and £1 and silver, granted hubby has raided it a few times, but i've told him now he's not allowed to and it sits nicely at the side of my bed with a piece of paper cellotapped over with just a whole big enough for money to go through. he curses me haha!
I think I'll just continue throwing money in there, I don't want to touch it until it's full.. *ooo can you imagine how much money will be in that :O:O* put it away and save for a baby if any come along!
Anyhoo - I got another bargain today... I browsed my email found that I had a voucher left, although it was a £5 off a £10 spend, I tried it with a £5.99 spend and got the dvd for 99p so that's a top gear volume 2 (think it's something of adventures???) bought for hubby, and I dono if i said what i got last night 2 dvd's for 18p :O brand spanking new. ebay is my friendit's those carry case dvd's and one is pingu's sledge academy and the other is fireman sam fun run, so that will do for my nephews birthday and one for his christmas. so very very please
:)

I've been really really looking forward to today cos 1st day of kids back at school (yesterday was inset) and time at last for house to be back straight.
and then......
Mr S set off to work in Midlands today we live in Yorkshire.
It started snowing.
Neighbour rang to see if I could take her youngest to school cos older ones ill.
Friend called as she's started her walking regime and my house is on her walking plan, so left her putting on DD's coat whilst I got neighbour's child.
Sett off for school.
Turned back having forgotten water bottle, left friend with both kids.
Picked up water bottle, caught up with friend and kids and found
DD had been sick.
Kicked fresh snow over vomit.
Sent friend back to mine with DD and took neighbour's child to school.
Phonje call from nan panicking that snow means she can't get my mum's card for birthday which is on...sunday!
Phone call from FIL panicking about whether hubby is working away..more panic when I confirm he is (hubby is 44!)
Infant school text saying school closing after dinner.
Wonder if neighbour has same text, she doesn't know I now also have an ill DD and am stuck
Can't find neighbours phone number and can't ring 1471 due to everyone else having rung.
Get DD to promise me she'll be ok, if I nip 6 doors down to neighbours house to tell her about school closing.
Neighbour hasn't had text but she arranges with someone else to pick up her dd.
Junior school text to say they will be closing usual time but closed tomorrow.
Son arrives home from school without his school bag, which has in it a cheque for his dinner money, his school planner, his swimming kit and a brand new pair of shoes I bought yesterday evening and son hasn't worn cos he went to school in wellies.
Son said he put bag in playground 1st thing and it vanished, caretaker went out to look and couldn't find.
Point out to son we need these shoes cos son has flat feet and we have an appt tomorrow for new insteps. Can't search tomorrow cos school is shut !
Can't decide whether to cry, or sell kids on ebay.
Ring Junior school and ask if anyone has handed bag in.
Secretary goes off in search and yes she's found it.
Send son back to school to collect.
Have argument with Mr S who wants to travel home tonight, despite the fact that there's bad weather conditions here and he took a change of clothes with him.
knock on door from mr S's friend who asks his wherabouts and says he's mad to attempt it home.
Ask friend to ring Mr S.
Mr S rings and says he's decided to stop o/n after all.
So as we stand I have 1 ill child, 1 off school tomorrow due to school closure and one husband away o/n and a xmas tree still up complete with decs.
Are you going to kick me off the thread for dis-organisation.:rotfl:

Hi everyone - very late in getting to the thread but extremely organised
All birthday gifts for this year are already bought, and I have to think of and buy Husband a main gift for Christmas but other than that I'm technically all done with shopping :j:rotfl:
I say "technically" because Husband hasn't done his shopping yet, but I've bought stuff for our nephews and niece (niece is a couple of months younger than Molly so won't care that she's getting a fuzzy orange blanket for Christmas :rotfl:) and the nephews will also receive an ice hockey puck each which Husband will be deputed to buy (or more likely I will take his card and order at some later stage). I will also organise his gifts for my parents and brother from some site with 3 for 2 later in the year so they'll all arrive in one box and we'll be sorted.
Anyway, I've still to decide where we'll be/what we'll be doing this year, because I'd like to start our own Christmas traditions now and not go to my parents, but other than that we're mostly organised so I'll be stopping into this thread every now and then to say hello and see what you're up to but not being a regular poster in case you all tempt me into buying more stuff
Enjoy yourselves - and I'll leave you for now with a picture of the first Organised Christmas baby of last year :AOrganised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Jamtart, I meant to say about wrapping - have you thought about Furoshiki? Very environmentally sound and reusable so MSE, and you could haunt a fabric shop for lightweight remnants or just buy a pretty sheet from a charity shopOrganised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

spendless - what a day you've had but how well you manage to put it into words that can give us a chuckle. You really should keep a diary.........just so you can look back this time next year and have a giggle yourself.
Good luck and hope things settle down re the 'sick child' situation.:rolleyes:I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Oops. I typed it in hurriedly as I could smell burning! (not unusual in my house).
I did think at the time - I'm sure Pip is a boys name! If sugarspun's DD is up for adoption I'll have her! Elysia would love it.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!
