  • I keep qvc on in the day for company. The house is quiet, there's only me here. Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've started burning my Yankee Candle tarts again, I always do when the nights get darker! Makes it feel cosy. I've got Jack Frost burning at the mo, it was sparkling cinnamon yesterday. Ooh very christmassy. LOL

Hope you feel better soon Fedup. It's going around, coughs, colds, flu and sniffles. Sis has just come back from docs, she's got bronchitis. You take care, and wrap up warm.

Thanks everyone re: Dreams! We're pleased with the outcome.

Clare - well done about your outcome with Dreams. Tbh I have heard only poor feedback about some of their products and cust service. We bought a brand new bed last Dec from eBay - divan with storage draws, and a memory foam topped pocket sprung mattress. Cost us about £280 and I couldn't be happier with it. Some feedback on eBay has said the base is fairly basic construction but it's no worse than the Myers one we prev had.
The cust service was fab too, bed is comfy and the delivery guys were lovely AND I didn't even have to ask them to take thier shoes off (it was around the snow time in Dec) - they actually said they'd bring it all in first to the lounge so they could take their shoes off and carry it upstairs for me. We went into Dreams to try a similar bed before our purchase and the guy said he could do us a really good deal....£1600 ...oh but that did include a free headboard! We said we'd think about it :rotfl::rotfl:

Yeah, we've learnt from our mistakes. Would NEVER buy from Dreams again!! We popped in on Saturday to choose our replacement mattress and it's over £100 cheaper than the one we bout originally so we'll be requesting that money back! Yeay! Will have to phone them to order it in a bit. Wish me luck!

mummyslittleboy - those hampers look fab!

mum2one - I really DON'T want to know what you found on the quilt. lol

NickyBo - what a horrible situation re: moving. Fingers crossed it all works out nice and quickly and the inlaws don't drive you mad. lol The Christmas production should keep you busy and distracted though!!! I loved helping out in those when I was teaching!

rufusdog - hope the decorating is going well!

fedupandskint - goodluck with you ramsters!

Well after selling silver jewellery for our friends (good market for it in my work apparantly! lol), I've decided to look into making my own jewellery - not all silver, just silver fittings, but beads and things. Have gone through the jewellery making threads on here and we had the jewellery maker shopping channel on a little bit yesterday, and now hubby is very supportive and was researching all the bits and bobs I'd need!! lol Can make a few Christmas pressies if nothing else comes of it!

You're all doing fab - I need to catch up!! lol

Clare I know expensive but I have a 20% off voucher knocking around somewhere - you can have it if you would like - Early Learning Centre toys are excellent quality and well worth every penny.

Abandoz - add gold glitter to the reindeer dust. ;)

    Mcjordi - brilliant bargain.

  • Hi all,

I just wanted to say thanks! You're all so inspiring! I have never been this organised for christmas, nevermind this early! :j

I love the challenges - this month alone I have sparkly organised wardrobes, downloaded the grand plan and put it in a folder (wrapped in lovely chrismas wrap.....I know you will understand lol), got lists for everyting including; all gifts and sources, cards, cleaning, maintenance, unassigned gifts etc!

I got all wrap and cards and many Boots goodies in the jan sales and am doing hampers for close family for the first time (am not v crafty so fingers crossed they'll look good). I've completed about 80% of my christmas shopping.

I've picked fruit for jam, chutney and fruit vodka for the first time - have yet to attempt so fingers crossed.

My only worry is; I am getting so excited in the build up to christmas that it might not come soon enough lol!:rotfl:

    Bring on the next challenge!

Hello all :j and welcome all newbies :j
I'm all behind myself today and its not because I've been busy........far from it ! Meant to plant some bulbs out in the garden but it rained then rained some more so gave up on that and went through the fam.tree scrapbooks I'd done for my sons to make sure I hadn't missed anything.........then hunted around for boxes for them.........found two I'd had scrapbook paper in and thought they'd fit.......they don't (strange -had weird dream last night and was trying to make a box.,.......)
Inspected 'stash' room and found I don't need to get any notebooks for journals............I'd already re-vamped some I'd got kicking around .......jobs to do and that are a must are varnishing the remaining ''smile'' pebble that had hidden itself under some papers, finish off the heart I made with my buttons (now I've checked where I went wrong with the ribbon to hang it) and something else.............brains gone numb !!:rotfl:

Glad you're all so organised.............I'm not

Oh just to add............plus side today coach tickets arrived for Scotland...........minus is the MOt due this week................!!
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
