Tomato Chutney on the go this afternoon.
Decided to give it a go while I was off as I feel a little bit better today - still not back to normal as having a rest after all that chopping! Don't think I have enough jars though for it all so I'd better have a rifle around quickly for some more

Hello all :j
Well not much done today -again ! It might help if the powers that be sorted out some education for the lad we've got.............tried ringing all day various numbers and no-one answers the phone........left messages and nobody rings back:mad:
Still, did get little book mark done for my friend and ''created'' a fairy charm, popped it in a little voile bag with a verse -she's mad on fairies so she'll love it. This is for her birthday in November.........musn't forget it,
Printed out some cute little chocolate labels to stick on old kitchen jars............had some chocolates bought me I'll never eat (dentures don't like them..........lol) so they'll be re-cycled on to someone else.
Think thats about all I've done.
mum2one -you do make me laugh.................lol Keep it up.............:rotfl:I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Glad to have helped Susan. I got the tip from the cardmaking thread.
Mary I apolgise - I only sent your fabric samples and oddments today.Be careful when you open the parcel, your birthday card is only tucked inside the wrapping. :A
Abandonz - I made blackberry jam (picked from hedgerows) but you could make strawberry or whatever you have. Don't buy the best though, If you can't get any freebies (by picking them or being given them), buy fruit from the reduced section.I've made chutney for the first time, but only because I had 10lbs of green tomatoes. I doubt I get through that in a year, never mind a few days once they start to ripen.
Forgot to add: Homemade jams and chutney I would say would easily last a year (as long as you steralise thoroughly), but someone said somewhere (not sure if it was here) that they were eating jam that was made about five years ago.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

Choccy labels now stuck on jars and friends 'angel/fairy' is all boxed up and tied with ribbon -thats about it today really except for ordering a coat (plus several other things I shouldn't have......lol)

I saw their 70% off jewellery and little bits, plus the Quidco and the 10% off code and decided that the stuff was small enough to store for the year. I still need to get stuff for Husband, Baby Daughter and my nephews, but everyone else is done. I've also put by a stash of baby books because I am now of an age when my friends are starting to reproduce.
Which site was that SS? Or is it a sale that has been and gone?:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Debenhams GISI, I assume it's still on and there are always codes floating around. I got a few Matthew Williamson necklaces for £3 from £15 :money:Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Chutney will last for years if you store it in sterilised jars and in a cool dark place - it should be ok. I have 3 lg jars left from last year and this should taste nice
I've got 6 normal size jars of tomato chutney and one mahoooooosive jar that was the only empty one left so have about 750mls worth in that - hope it tastes nice - first time I've made this one!
Feel absolutely wiped out after cleaning out 1 cupboard and making this lot of chutney. At least all the jars fit in the cupboard now and are all labelled so I know what's what.
I know I need to take it steady so overdid it a little todayfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550
