    Xmas Saver!
    Morning everyone

fedupandskint - hope you're feeling better

clare - good luck with the Avon stuff

Feeling quite Christmassy after yesterday - went to Sainsburys and they had loads of Christmas chocolates on offer, as well as having all the mince pies out!

Lots of places had cards for sale in town as well as some tags and wrapping paper. Bought a big box of After Eights for £1.42 and some chocolate coins for my sister's Christmas box.

Also noticed that Sainsburys have started doing 'a quarter of' bags of traditional sweets for 50p a bag. Perfect to go in a sweetie jar for a hamper so I bought some white mice and sherbert lemons to make a start!

    :)

Those are lovely sweets, my childhood coming back.

Just reminded me when you said After 8 mints - not sure if its Thurs or Min but Netto are doing them for a £1.00 (thou if its anything like our store, 3 boxes and there gone xx) x
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

Anyone struggling to find something to put pamper stuff into as a present, how about a weekend away bag?

These red 'christmassy' faux leather bags are down to just £3 today. I've ordered 2 because its free postage over £5 and am going to put my sisters presents of a bath towel and hair products in it. :xmassmile

They look brilliant, - just going to get 2, Miss Hoodie would want the other one anyhow. xx

Just been tempted with the 99p bargains - just got the metal bookmark, reading light, and passport set for my friends hubby, great bargain. xx

  • Just read Martin's weekly email - it's 100 days to Christmas tomorrow!! :T

On top of that, I woke up with the Coca Cola Christmas advert song in my head this morning for some reason...

Last year OH bought me a leather jacket from All Saints, but the zip broke so they gave me a gift card instead when I returned it - I chose a new jacket finally yesterday but it was less than the original amount so I still have about £50 left! Might do for someone's Christmas pressie!!

    Hello all :j

Just checked littlewoods site and chocolate hearts.(It said still available).......can't quite fathom it -could be my brain but it says £30 and I couldn't find out how many you got for that money ? I'm a bit of a numpty I know and might have got it totally wrong.....:rotfl:

Have spent nearly all day making little felt things to go in the pockets of the alphabet wall hanger for grandson...........elephant was ok, pig (bit on the ''pink'' side for me really), yacht -too big but can make the pocket bigger (easier than doing another yacht), zebra - not too sure, think it needs some black hair down the back of its neck............left to do the xylophone..............our lad drew one for me to copy so maybe tomorrow...............or another day ??
Still need to get notebooks for journals and 2011 diaries.................100 days left ??? Panic
I've got a birthday in November to sort out yet !
Just decided -tomorrow I'm covering my old anadin boxes in christmas paper for the ''smile'' pebbles........less stressful than playing with felt I think....................lol
Remembered what I got the red check ribbon for yesterday............to tie round the box of fabric hearts and trees for my son...........:j
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Hi, I'm and old money saver but new to this thread and really need the inspiration for christmas this year. I am completely skint with an 18 month old baby. I want to try and make as many xmas presents as I can this year as I am quite handy but don't get a lot of time. But am having a stab at the green tomato chutney tomorrow as they could be a nice gift, I bought some brown luggage labels today to make the jars look posh.

I don't know if this is the right place to post but I have found a link from a magazine with some downable craft ideas that might make nice presents:

    http://yhmag.co.uk/craft.php

Bought the mag last week for the first time and was suprised at how good it was as it's one of the cheaper ones. Now all I need to do is have a hunt through the fabric stash and get my bum in gear!
