    Hello all :j

fedup -hope you feel better soon........spoil yourself:) Might do the trick

You all sound so organised...........unlike me..
Had one of those days where I couldn't get on at all.......young girl who used to clean for me popped up then I had lengthy phone call........then our lad was in and out with his mate and there's me trying to do something before my glue went off !! Still, managed in the end and got one sons christmas stuff in his shoebox......still more to be added but its all laying on the spare bed waiting. Got two birthdays to do before christmas so think I'd better concentrate on them. Least it looks like I've got enough stuff so no need to buy anymore :T
Couple of things on the recycling thread I want to have a go at but think they'll be for us:)

Enjoy the rest of the day........sounds like you all deserve a ''feet up and me time'':rotfl:
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

On the Gadgetshop front - I placed an order on the 27th and the money has been taken out of my paypal account so fingers crossed it's been dispatched. The order I placed yesterday morning, the payment is still pending. I was in two minds whether to place the order or not in the first place, because when I placed the first order, I went through quidco but it never tracked at all. When I placed my order yesterday, they aren't on quidco now and hundreds and hundreds of things on there were OOS. Fingers crossed they are just changing warehouses (like it says on the site) and not going bankrupt.

My Gadget shop order arrived yesterday! Still not been told it's been dispatched though! :D lol Glad everyone else seems to have had theirs now too!

Susan - thank you for the questions!!!

Currently having me 'Me' evening - hubby out, DD fast asleep, I'm sat on my bed having just had a shower, watching BB, eating Haagan Daz and casually browsing online! Lovely. Will have an early night soon me thinks.

Got an idea for making an advent calendar for DD (not for this year, she's too young to appreciate it anyway - milkybar for her this time! lol) but will run it by you all probably Monday!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend people. fedup - take it easy!

LOl Susan - I just leave my computer on to save turning it off and rebooting it everytime! I looked on computer and I must have deleted my half filled out spreadsheet, so I was going to get everything out and list it in a notebook. You know how you intend to do something, but think I'll just do that first? Well I ended up sorting out my bedroom storage and not the presents. Two hours later I'd had enough, so I'll do it in the week when the kids are at school.

Fedup - what are you still doing on here? Bed for you! You'll feel much better tomorrow hopefully.

I was missing Mum2one too! It's not like her to be awol for so long - even on holiday she pops on. I hope everything is alright.

Enjoy the rest of the evening Clare - I look forward to hearing what you have decided to do about the advent calendar.

Right then, I'm off now. Night all xxx

    Morning all,

Just seen on Mum2ones diary that she had a bit of a mare on holiday and now is having hassle with her ex so I guess she isnt feeling very festive at the minute. Hugs Mum2one :grouphug:x x

Just got some Mickey Mouse pyjamas for Pip, Im going to do a Christmas eve hamper for us. Ive got tonnes of present ideas but just seem to be lacking the funds to put them into reality. I must confess to being quite worried as to how we are going to manage to pay for everything this year:(. And the really mad thing is I start early, I hunt down bargains, I save money where possible. Imagine how much it would cost if I didnt!!!!:eek:
Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700

  • Thanks Pips mum for letting us know - I wondered if mum2one was ok

As for lacking funds - remember to set a budget and stick to it! I started to do this and it worked well buying sale items earlier in the year

    Hope it works for you

Well OH has put me to shame today - he has sorted out his wardrobe, a pile of things to sell/charity shop - me I've been revising for my next course so unfortunately haven't had five minutes to do anything at all Christmassy or challengy. I do know I have my Christmas cards and I need OH to go in the attic to see what paper we already have. I have a couple of things to go in there, need to sort the ebay stuff out and put the summer listing items away until Feb time! I have 5 parcels to wrap to post that have sold over the weekend, so the Christmas ebay fund is coming along nicely. Saw a Nintendo ds in one of the cash generator type shops last week for £55 so am going for a closer look this week. Want one for DD but she is only 3 and I want to put away for her - don't know whether she will still be too young at Christmas, what are your opinions?
Been to the local show today, was lovely walking around - I took a peek at the home produce stall to see what the lady had put in her tomato chutney, just need to find a recipe now!

I'm sure we can forgive you with the revising, I know that feeling, thou at the mo mines all assisgnmnets, one for this week, 2 for end of September, then start 3 new courses - I'm a gluten for punishment!!

Well done for OH with his wardrobe, thou men can get away with half the stuff we need!!

Hope you don't mind me being cheeky, re the DS - just thinking that new dsi are £99, the original DSlite there being reduced to £79 Amazon, Argos etc, and that way you'd get the 12 month guarentee.

The games start at age 3, so shes at an ideal age to start off with one. I'm raiding my voucher supply towards the DSxl for Miss Hoodie for her bday, shes got the dslite and looked after it well, so that be heading to ebay end of the month..... shes a chip off the old block, she asked if I sold her DS she will get the money!!!

Hope your Attic not like ours its a black hole ...... things disappear...... including a box of 800 xmas cards!! xx

    Hi everyone

Sounds like everyone has been busy over the bank holiday!! I am making progress, but will really focus once the older kids are back at school.

Today we off to the naerby factory outlet to see if we can get school shoes - there is a Clarks there and they have up to 70% off the shop prices. Last year I got a pair of £35 school shoes for £11, so hopefully I will get all 3 pairs we need for the shop price of 1 pair!

They also have a dsicount book/craft store so I will having a nose in there as well, seeing as we're in the area ;)

Yesterday I got a few bits and pieces in the Tesco seasonal sale. A couple of waxed cardboard buckets with pictures of lollies on, 2 for 50p, which I am going to use to make the sweetie hampers for my nephews and nieces. I also found some awesome sweets on ebay, which I haven't ordered yet - chocolate lego men, lego block sweets, dolphin jelly sweets (niece obsessed with dolphins!).......brilliant! :D Have saved them to my favourite shops.

I also got some plastic sandcastle buckets which were reduced to 30p, I am going to use them to make the "weather" themed gifts for the toddlers in the family as it's something they can keep afterwards. The orange ones I am going to keep for the older kids to use for trick or treating at halloween!

I got a few other little stocking fillers and bits and pieces, as well a ssome reduced summer games, incl a wooden rounders set for £6 :D came home with 3 bags of stuff (only went to get cold and flu capsules ) but had only spent £16, which was fab considering how much stuff I had got.

I think with regards to the nintendo DS, it depends on the child a lot. My DS2 struggles with some of the wii games still and he is 6 but DS1 could handle them with ease from about 4 or 5. They both want DS's but I am mean and have said the wii is enough. That was popular! :p My friend has them for her kids, and says they are a godsend for things like long car journeys.......her son had one at 3 and could use it fine- just depends on the child really. Foxy has your DD tried someone elses?

I would second the vtech toys too - we have the walk and learn and it has been passed down 4 times and is still going strong!! DS3 likes it now, but DD2 still thinks of it as "hers" so we have one or two fights about it

I would also second Wilkinsons for craft stuff - my kids always want to spend their pocket money there and I usually get something for DD2 (age 2) as well. Last time we were there I got her a little paint your own wooden trinket box and a paint your own wooden jigsaw puzzle - the 2 of them together were less than £4! :D

    SG

You've got some brilliant bargains there, def 2nd the Vtech system, Miss Hoodie had one, remember the mad rush to Woolworths when they'd been reduced, and the Vtech reading system, when she outgrew them we sold them in the local free adds.

Def 3rd Wilkos for craft items, get a lot from there, Poundland and Home Bargains are worth a look as well.

Those sweets sound fab, my mouth watering xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
