Hi have been following posts and lurking (also stealing ideas!) Just wanted to say huge thank you to everyone; baby number 3 due end of Oct (halloween!!!!) and really want christmas as near as sorted by then- its been a tough year financially but have been saving quidco money etc and hoping its enough to pay for christmas. Now have complete list of what to get/make for everyone and almost there at collecting the bits needed- thank you all for such wonderful inspiration. Now just need to get bum into gear; 3 sock monkeys, 3 aprons, 3 flannel reindeers, spicy sauces, truffles and snowmen soup to make. No idea what I am getting husband but everyone else catered for. Christmas elves also visit us, so need to plan what they will be up to- any ideas? sorry for long post.(Family of 5: 2 adults & 3 children aged 7yrs, 4yrs, and 18months)0

Hi all
I've been awol for a while and can't catch up with the posts there's so many. I've had an idiot targetting one of the front windows with eggs. Happened numerous times. So I've had to spend a lot of time up at nights sorting out lights, been ok since I've been doing that, but it's a nuisance.
I must ask a question of Mary or anyone else that dries lavender - why is it when I dry mine that it doesn't seem to smell?
mum2one - it was nice to read your post when you said it's like we're all family - I bet most people on here feel like that too.
Organising Christmas plans - I printed all my organising/house cleaning up last year and didn't do anythingfelt too much under pressure so good luck to those of you that are doing them.

Have made 2 christmas presents tonight for DD1's school friends and they were done quite cheaply to, I did 2 small baskets with make up, bath salts, one of those bath scrunchie things (can't remember what there called:o) and some other smellies in and they have cost me about £1.70 each:D
Also got one of my friends present made today so thats a couple done.
Boght some glasses in Mr A yesterday and some gold glitter paint for pots of gold I am going to paint a band of gold round the bottom of the glass just hope it turns out ok.
Made a list for DS and DD1 has decided on a couple of things she wants and DD2 hasn't a clue:mad: still we will get there in the end I hope.:jmember of the thrifty gifty 2011 :j0 -
Hi all,
Had a disaster with the Chilli Jam.
About 3pm I went to make it and DD1 wanted to help. I let her start it and then fell ill. (I get spasms in stomach - like cramp but a million times worse). I left her cooking it and then I got so bad had to call 999 (second time in a month) anyway they though it was my heart, kept me in for tests and then said you're OK and chucked me out at 11.30pm (we need your bed).
I got home looking forward to lots of pots of goodies and she'd only burnt it in the panic! Oh what a shame!!! I think it's doomed!!! I'll be like you Rufus and not bother next year. :rotfl:
Late post as so hyped up now I can't sleep. I'd best try though I have ANOTHER appointment at a different hospital tomorrow for more tests. I'll live - I'll be fine

Hope all goes well Elysia xx
Sorry to hear about the egg throwing Anglea, that would scare me to bits if someone targetted our house, hope you get it sorted xx
Hello to some more new faces xx0 -
That's awful Anglea
Sorry to hear that Elysia - hope they get to the bottom of it and can fix it soon.
I sent out emails to everyone who'll be receiving home made goodies from me this year asking about allergies and received a round of mock abuse in return - apparently most people are allergic to thinking about Christmas in September.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
