Nickybo - Is it you who bought the Vtech motion? There's £20 games on debenhams reduced to £8.50 (I think) and then there's an extra 10% and free p+p.

I bought Goddaughter a Mr Potato head game - reduced from £15.00 but paid only £6.75. Also got some tights for neice reduced from £6 - £1.70

Loads of stuff on there but nothing else I wanted.

    Morning all,

Just seen on Mum2ones diary that she had a bit of a mare on holiday and now is having hassle with her ex so I guess she isnt feeling very festive at the minute. Hugs Mum2one :grouphug:x x

Yes, massive hugs mum2one!! :grouphug: Good to have you back!

Putting my fingers in my ears while you're talking about dream houses.....lalalalalalalalalalaaaaaaaaaaa can't hear you!!!!

Saw ADSA had tins of chocolates - 2 for £10 - already! Now, I KNOW we're all early with Christmas planning, but.....

tq16 - welcome and good luck with your little spooky baby! :D

rufus - what happened last year with your chutneys?
elysia - oh no! Shame about your chili jam but hope you're feeling a bit better. Do they know what it is??

sugarspun - allergies - lol bet they all thought they were being really funny too!! lol

Well my productive day yesterday went well - made raspberry jam (5 jars of different sizes), Rhubard & apple jam (3 big jars), and 4 apples pies (1 normal, one with raspberry and two with blackberries). Felt quite pleased with myself. Got home (was at my parents) and hubby had made a lovely slow roast beef hotpot and trifle but I then ate too much and really suffered for it!! lol My own fault. Plus DD has another tooth coming through we think and was waking every 1 to 2 hours bless her. Not the best night!!

Advent Calendar Idea - I'm not going to do this for this year, but I'm hoping it's something we can use for years to come. And if I start now, I'll have plenty of time to work on it! lol Before I go any further, I should say that I can sew a bit - cross stitch is really my thing - but only by hand - I haven't really got a sewing machine. Could use my Mum's at a push though. I was thinking of making some sort of wall/door hanging advent calendar, maybe out of felt, but then somehow use some of DD's old baby clothes incorporated into the design. Maybe as the pockets? Or maybe as part of the design. I don't know really. Hubby loves the idea but like me doesn't know the best way of doing it. So any suggestions you crafty people might have would be very very welcome. Or pictures of anything that might work? Or any other ideas that ARN'T wall hangings..... Thanking you in advance!

On a side note, and this is a bit of a strange request, do any of you make crafty things and sell them on ebay/online? If you do, can you PM me please? There's something I want to ask you but not sure if I'm strictly speaking allowed to on the forums. Sounds ominous, it isn't I promise! lol

Well done on your productive day :)

I've just been on Books Direct Bargains - non-club subsidiary of the book club. There's 8% Quidco and code 55099 gets you a free children's book set or Wii kids' game WYS £5. Delivery is free over £5 too :money: I've just bought myself a book that's RRP £18 for 99p plus a couple of Bradshaw's railway maps @99p each (might also be good for the children's sleuth hampers) but they have some children's book sets for £1 and £2 that are RRP £20.

OOOhhhhh I would love a real fire just for the feeling of coziness u get at christmas, we don't even have a gas or electric one ( we may have to paint one and stick it on the wall this year lol)

Did anyone see Nativity last year - I'm dying to see it but it doesn't come out til november!

tq16 - I was due my second baby in november last year so I made sure I had done everything before the baby came, the cards, the shopping and most of the wrapping. It meant we had a lovely relaxing christmas.

just sold some stuff on ebay and made 32pounds so gonna keep to use on christmas presents.

gonna try some crafts - one of these threads had reindeer wrapper for a chocolate bar - so I love that idea

also making an organised hamper for my sis in law and have a really cute writing set from home bargains for 99p - I'm going to go get another one and use that one to cover a diary, notepad and a pen. Is it mary who does this - if so, mary, is it better to cover pens or pencils??

I am going to do a breakfast hamper for someone for christmas - what things could I put in, thinking jam, hot chocolate ??!! any ideas??

    Hello all :j

mum2one -well done with your course :T

rufus -glad your Dad is feeling better -must be a worry for you

elysia - best wishes.......hugs ((:o)) and all that -take it easy

scattymam -I've covered pens and pencils as long as the pens are nice and round and you have to be careful if they're a click on/off pen that you cover just a bit below so not to tear the paper (hope that makes sense ?)
Never done a breakfast hamper but did an ''elevenses box'' for MIL's birthday last year -put in breakfast tea and afternoon tea, jar of coffee, coaster (I'd done cross stitch of a tea cup & put in it), puzzle books I know she likes, packet of biscuits and serviette plus nice china mug -hope that helps:)

Well I've not done a lot today apart from sort out the boxes I covered yesterday and put handbag charms in them and some key rings I concocted with pebbles that had holes in............must think of some sort of verse now so folk know they've got handbag charms and not just a collection of my old beads.....................lol
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Cd smiler - last year I tried making some plum and apple chutney with some fruit someone gave us. I found a recipe on the internet (think it was a BBC one) and followed it precisely. The stuff in the pan looked lovely as it was cooking, left it on for the amount of time it said and kept stirring but it was smelling really strong. I had all the doors and windows open to let the smell out, then when I went to taste it, blimey, it was rank. Tasted like salty vinegar. It made me sick just tasting a bit off the spoon, so it all went in the bin. The house stank for about a week after. I am just glad that I hadnt had to buy any of the ingredients except for the vinegar.

Had a nice day with my Dad, thanks Mary-op, yes it is a worry but he seems to be in good spirits these days since the hospital discharged him. Mind you, for the first couple of days he was in a bit of a tiz thinking that may be they discharged him because they couldnt do any more for him bless him. But he has had a talk with his doctor now and he seems to be happy again.

Think the postman brought my Ebay parcel today (barbie dolls) as there was a card in the door, our post didnt come till after 1 so we were already out. Will have to try to get up the sorting office in the morning to pick it up.

Just trawled all round Tesco and Asda (online not the actual shops.................lol:rotfl:)
Got that excited over a duffle coat onTesco site then saw loads of stuff on Asda...........started off just looking for pair of fur lined boots (well faux fur).....can't afford Ugg ones so have to improvise. Thinking of getting something warm for my feet so I don't freeze in Scotland in October.............lol:rotfl:
Sites are so slow I gave up in the end after I'd ear marked a cardigan, jumper, roll neck jumper, pyjamas -oh and not forgetting boots...........lol
Think I'll have to give it a rest till another day before my eyes fall out:eek:
